1992 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser

I went and checked out the wagon and took some more pictures. The guy selling it, Bob is a fellow car nut/Friend of mine. He explained that he just bought off another guy who flipped it from the original owner. All this occurred in the last couple of weeks. Bob is contemplating keeping it but thought he'd list the car because he's not that crazy about the blue color. It is a little faded as well. I thought the car is in nice shape but does need a few things. The dash pad will need replacement and the moon roof trim is falling off and will need to be re-glued. The steering wheel is also dried out and the radio volume is a little finicky. I did drive the car and it drives beautifully with cold a/c and good power. It has larger Cooper trendsetter 235/75-15 tires with lots of tread but they are old and have a few sidewall cracks. I'd still drive it with them but Bob recommended replacing them. I did see the car fax and it's clean with the exception of one entry of a damage report. The report also showed maintenance by the Buick dealer which was good to see. We speculated it might have had a little bump at one time at the passenger rear. I saw one small paint line below the rear side window. Overall a nice car for the money. Lucy and John must have been the original owners from Fullerton, CA. Out here the plates stay with the vehicle unless you want custom ones like these back.

Hardin Buick, the dealer on the license plate frame, is still in business at the Anaheim Auto Mall selling Buicks........and GMC trucks................and Hondas.........and Hyundais........ Back when this was sold new, they were the main Olds dealer in town, along with the GMC trucks, and Honda. Shopped their lots a few times....

 

Sounds like a menage a´ trois. But, Bob just couldn't fit into the license plate.
That paint job looks bodged, to begin with. Even, to the point to where it can't get buffed out, without creating thin to bald spots. He might wan't to figure that in, while negotiating a fair price

 

Looks as if the roof and windshield joint has a taped paint line? Could it have had a repaint at some point?

 

The entire surface looks orange peelish. The hood almost looks like it has been spray can painted

 

From what I could tell the paint looks like it’s been baked by the sun for several years just like a lot of older cars out here. I’m curious if wet sanding could bring it back but I’m guessing it’s too thin. As far as a tape line across the top of the windshield, I thought that was most likely caused by the seal shrinking away from the windshield due to the sun again.

Was sold locally. Two buyers both wanted it within an hour of each other!

 

Looked and sounded like a great wagon for the price.
