I imagine it wouldn't be that hard to install air conditioning, as it was an option on these cars. Beyond that, I haven't really given it much thought.

    She's all original

This Cougar has never been on this site before and, yes, she does sport bench seats; the interior is all original.

As for 1980s and earlier Canadian cars, they tended to lack air conditioning because Canucks are usually much more frugal and European in their buying habits when it comes to motorized chariots. Yet, I can assure everyone, southern Ontario summers back then could be very muggy with typical temperatures in the 80s. Needless to say, it was not uncommon to hit the 90s and occasionally go over a 100.

By the way, a little known fact is that much of southern Ontario is at the same latitude as northern California.

There was the price factor to consider, when it came to a/c back then. In 1984, air conditioning on an Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Coupe was $1,100. The out the door price on that Delta, without a/c, was $13,000, including all the taxes. Of course, that $1,100 did not include the sales tax on that amount, nor the extra $100 excise tax levied on a/c equipment, either. In other words, a/c would have added about 10% to the price of the car, and it was already costing very nearly a year's income for me.

    a/c, a/c, a/c...

Okay, you guys, have you all forgotten? You roll all four side windows and the tailgate window down, about an inch and a half/ two inches, and drive--- there's your a/c...:1st: Like that 440 a/c. Roll down four windows, drive forty mph. Even works on sunny days.:49:

    and then

also, was going to mention the engine bay, too... every thing else on the car looked almost brand new, then we go to the shot of the engine bat and--- whoa... not that that's necessarily a bad thing. most people forget to wash that out at the coin-op car wash places. and, other than being dusty dirty, didn't look too bad. dusty dirty with dark wet spots where the oil leaks? not so good...:slap:

    No oil leaks

The Cougar purrs like a kitten and definitely doesn't leave any deposits (oil leaks) where she shouldn't. Growl!
