    It's a cinch that the dealer will pull it prior to close of auction if bidding does not pick up.

    Sometime over the last 10 years, people started hearing about how collectible these wagons had become. ;)

    In the summer of 2003, I could have purchased one of these in showroom, MINT, MINT, MINT, condition for $900. (that was the price on the window, could have probably got it for $500) on the back "wholesale" lot of one of our local Ford dealerships. To this day I regret not buying that wagon! It was a '76 Country Squire, 460 engine, Brougham interior, cornering lights, LOADED to the max, even had the dual-facing rear seats. An older couple that bought it new traded it in on a new 2002 Crown Victoria! It (the wagon) was like a tan color with beige interior.

    Advertised on their website for $9990

    Reserve met at $5000

    SOLD for $8100

    Yeah, bidding finally heated up there at the end. This dealer ended up barely breaking even again, just like with that '78 Pontiac Grand Safari.
