Not so long ago $30,000 would buy you one that was basically flawless. This is a nice car but hey, the paint on the hood and on the drivers door and some other spots is cracked and hazed, the driver side quarter panel is rotted and the dash is cracked in 2 places. Not to mention the wear on the driver seat that you can’t do anything about. Still nice, but in my opinion not 40 grand nice

All very true - but these wagons are increasingly hard to find, especially loaded up like this.

Not to mention you have with this car a 1 year 1 model only grille..that is very popular.

I realize all of those points. And yes…they rarely even come up for sale. In today’s market they will bring what they bring…the beauty of a free market system…just saying that I have a hard time seeing them shoot up so high. I’ve always wanted a 58 Chevy and still don’t have it for the very same reasons.

I would say that we just saw a same year Caprice Classic coupe, not nearly as well optioned hit $$28,000 reserve not met. I think if this lands somewhere in the low $40,000 this could be still well bought, when you think of the rarity, and as Jwdtenn points out the fact it is a really loaded car, and rare car. Bet white coupes tripled the numbers of Caprice Estate wagons.

Price has actually gone backward a bit - back at $24,988 - exactly one week to go.

I expect bidding will pick up again soon. The strong points far outnumber the flaws on this very desirable GM clamshell.

Folks may be waiting it out, but agreed I think this thing will take off with a couple of days to go.

No matter the angle. That is a good looking wagon, in about the best color you could have gotten on a ‘76. Pretty fantastic survivor.
