That's a rare one. Some conversion companies that were building Cadillac wagons on the '71 - '76 platform used the prior generation ('65 - '70) wagon section. This one was done right - using the period-correct 'clamshell' type wagon section. Was probably quite a bit more labor cost to do it this way, though.
I agree with you. These wagon conversions look much better with the GM clamshell rear roof sections. What seems odd is that they used a donor wagon with a manual rear door. You can tell by the chrome lift handle at the center. If it had the power rear door you don't get this handle, as it opens and closes via the key or dash switch.
