Good luck Premier, I'd help if I could, but I am practically on the East Coast (here in Tennessee) as well. Hope you can get this nice clamshell Caprice Estate wagon!

Yeah, I think that would be the proper legalese term for it. :)

Seriously, I would not even consider doing business with someone who pulls that kind of move.

    What the heck???

Doesn't surprise me... last time I tried to work a deal on a '73 Caprice Estate in southern CA, I got hoo-dood. The guy seen how desirable the car was and decided not to sell it... I was even ready to send the money!! That was in 2007.

Premier - are you still working on this deal at $3900?

Hi guys sorry for not checking in sooner and keeping everyone up to date, and also thanks to rrbnut for forwarding those pics on to me. The car looks clean except for the normal rust issues in the spare wheel area and also a little under those two big back windows, nothing too major hopefully.

Ok I have been out of town (and in the country, and I still am atm) since Friday so I have not managed to keep up with everything as I normally would have liked to, especially while I am trying to deal with something like this, but I do have another business contact in the L.A. area (different from the one in Palm Springs) that has been in contact with the seller, and at least at that stage, he seemed to indicate that 4k was still the selling price, however after the recent events, I am now waiting to hear back from my contact to see where I stand now. If it can still be had for 4k then I have instructed my contact to buy this car on my behalf, but if the seller is now asking more than double, then there will be no deal, not on this one, and from what I have seen, I don't think he get anywhere near that price either.

It is now a waiting game for me and the ball is now well and truly in the sellers court if he wants to sell.
