Well you all know where I stand.... I'm in!

I have emailed direct but my past experience is that they are sometimes not sure about getting into contact with international buyers, so can I ask, is there anyone local to this area that could make contact on my behalf? I am not asking to get involved with the finance side, just to make sure that if the deal is worth doing, I can get the deal done. I would much appreciate any help as I can get and also I am open to suggestions.

well I emailed the seller and got a reply... he basically said he likes things plain and simple and said whoever walks up with 4000 cash drives away... it don't sound like he's much into any kind of complicated deals or shipping. considering I live almost on the East Coast that knocks me out. lol. I'm posting is on my lunch hour from my phone sorry for any typos lol.

Can anybody in the L.A. area help out The Premier?. He just needs a little leg work to check out this wagon, maybe a few pics. It's in the Mission Hills area of the SFV.

Nope nothing back yet.... this seems to be a regular occurrence, I get maybe 1 in 3 or 4 reply's from these inquiries. I really don't blame them though as this is the internet and my inquiry may get put into the "Hi I'm on an oil rig and I am trying to buy this as a suprise for my brother" out tray! On the plus side, I am buying some speakers ($75) from Jacksonville craigslist FL right now and I can tell by the short email that the seller is a bit weary, but to his credit he did reply and should get back to me today with a shipping cost hopefully.

    Ok time for plan B

Lucky it is the valley in the L.A. area (an area I have driven through several times) as I have a good contact in Palm Springs that helped me with my Malibu Wakesetter boat in 2011, and being reasonably close, he just may be able to help me with this one. I will make contact in the next hr or so to see how I go.

Great colour combo hey Swanny, nothing screams the 70's more than yellow on brown!

Hey Krash, just noticed you are in Oregon, my boat originally came from Bend Or.

Just tried to ring Palm Springs but no answer so I will try again in another hr or two. It is 8.10 am Wednesday morning so I have all day!

I mentioned to him about you... I told him that someone was on the wagon forums that was overseas that was interested in the car, so hopefully that will help, but as mentioned, he said right in the email that he likes things plain and simple (and I told him that knocked me out because I could not come to California, that is 3000 miles from here), but hopefully you can work something out with him. I didn't hear back from him after his reply. I would love to have the car myself... had I the space and cash, I would love to have it on a truck to Tennessee and sell my '72 wagon. lol.

    Good luck!

Thanks Kingswood. If I can just get in contact with him, I would make it as painless as possible especially if I can get my contact to deal with him, but as I said, I don't blame them from shying away from international enquiries.

I have been holding back some info because I am trying to see if I can get a car to coincide with my plans, but I (along with the Mrs's) are planning a trip at the end of October to the West Coast (via L.A. of course), and I was hoping to have found a car buy then. I have not booked my ticket just yet because I still may need to go a little later in case something else comes up. But If I can find what I am looking for soon, then watch out, here I come!

Kingswood, can you see if you can get some more info about its history and some good pics like under the bonnet (hood) and down around the bottom of the front guards (fenders) doors and dog leg etc?

Yeah, from the way I took the email, he really wasn't even interested in shipping... he said he was very busy and if someone showed up with $4000 cash or a price that was settled on they could "drive away". I am not sure if they basically meant he would only deal in person or not, but that is how I took it. I didn't get a reply back afterward.

Actually here is the reply I got...

"Hey Tony, I like things real simple. Someone walks up with $4000 (cash only) or a best offer we agree on, I sign the pink and they drive away. That is the only way I will do the deal. I'm not in a hurry to sell and I have a busy life with no extra time to spare. If you can come get it and bring cash I would be happy to send photos and tell you more about it. Thanks and best of luck. Sincerely".

Like I said, I did reply and say you were interested as well, but I haven't heard back yet. I was kinda interested in the car, I was going to try to sell something or try to borrow the money and then sell my wagon or something, but looks like it is not going to work out. Also, now that I know you are interested, I would like you to get a shot at it... I know how much you are wanting one and I would really like to see you get this car! If he ends up sending me some photos, I will pass them along!

    Good luck!
