I've bought and sold a few on BaT (and elsewhere). Mostly just something I wanted back in the day and couldn't afford then. Fun cars for a season or two for sure, but rarely live up to the memory. A couple have been keepers, but most just enjoyed and passed on to another caretaker. However, anything that I acquire would have to be at or below market so I could resell without a loss. BaT has been a good market to sell as some bidders don't know when to stop. I really liked this Hornet the first time around, but agree with you guys the final sale price was over the top.

    Typical last minute panic bidding

I'm thinking the seller got tired of fixing stuff on this one. STILL hasn't fixed the AC.

I think the market is down a bit, and he's trying to sell it at the wrong time. If I were him, I would get the AC working and then try to sell it in the spring. He would do better.

Also Kevin, your thinking the seller maybe didn't get the driving experience he was expecting out of this wagon may also have something to do with the sale.

    Sold for $23,000 on 1/17/24
Made $1000 since he bought it. spent more than that on the stuff it says he did.

Man. I'm honestly surprised it went over the last sale price.

Awesome. Nothing like a good old fashioned auction.

For sure if you're the seller, not so much for the buyer.
