Dis car has been like Christin....I has had to earn this one...Today I will start putting her back together....
Oh my gawd! That even glows in the dark! What a honey of a car! My keyboard is shorting from the drool. I need more visine to cure my gawking dry eyes! Is that yours or some lucky customer who got you to do her right? It makes me wanna be a better man! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
Nice form! Is there a name for that pose? The One-legged Shooter? The Peg-leg Painter? Oh, freakin' awesome looking car. What colour is that? Grape, purple, burgandy?
That's his Artiste pose! Very Prince Georgian! It's either a 1957 or 1958 Imperial Crown (the continental trunk lid is a give away). I think the 1959 had that taillight form too, but a bit lower. When he says putting it back together, he's understating. The bumpers are your typical Titanic anchor, and those taillight chrome bezels make you wish you have an 8-year old's fingers, or really long 1/4' drive extensions with a flashlight on the end. They're 26 feet long and IIRC about 6 feet wide inside. Rolling living rooms.
You don't need free help putting it back together do ya? You could serve drinks working under the dash in that beast.
Andy, he must have one big mother of an air exchanger in that booth. Look at the pictures on the wall. The overspray and dust would have them coated in no time flat!
I'm wrong again! 1957, 58, 59 and 1960 had the same taillight format! 1961 had the lower taillights. http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/index.htm
Yeah, those fins are great when you have to park it. They're almost chest-high on me. The rear view mirror is useless without a telescope in reverse. Dash-mounted IIRC. Too low. But that's my only beef with them. The trunk liners are better than most home carpeting. A perfect Mafia car. You could put one front line of a football club in the car. The linemen in the trunk and the others in the front. Hook the coach on the hood ornament.
He did a heck of a job. I recall reading a description about the 1958 Chrysler 300 Hemi. The 2-door convert and hardtop had this meaner looking grille. If you saw one behind you, you were intimidated enough to pull over and let the guy pass - so said the writer. Can't recall if it was a Car and Driver mag or something like it, at the time. The Chrysler 300 Hemi had dual quads and solid lifter valves. HOT! Weighed about 900 lbs less too.
