429 V8. Power seat and windows. Not a wagon, but well worth a look. $4500. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/4277372456.html
I like that car. It reminds me of the 70s detective shows like Cannon. Is that Cassette slots in the "humper"? My eyes are not the best but the decal on the air cleaner looks like it says 428 rather than 429. Can anyone with better eyes confirm or deny? mike
The floor jack holding up the front end is all ways a nice touch when posting 4-Sale pics Same colour but Cannon drove Lincolns in the TV show... and blue ones.... Silver... I have all ways liked the full size 71/72 Fords, but not so much the 2 door because of the roof style with the tiny window that BTW was fixed, you could not roll it down. IMO Ford failed as they should have shared the rear windows and roof line with the convertible model witch looks much better.... witch the rear windows did roll down,
1970 was the last year for the 428. In the full sized Ford that year, it was only available as the Police Interceptor engine. Supposedly, the PI was basically the same as the Cobra Jet version that came in the Mustang.
Good question. I wonder if the front springs are broke and the car was looooooow to the ground? Hmm. I never knew those rear windows were "fixed" on those cars... well there is another reason for me not to like. I just have never really been a fan of 2-door cars (odd I know) - but there are a few that I like in 2-door form... this is just not one of them. I like the 4dr sedans and 4dr hardtops. (Same goes for the Torinos of that era). Now I do love the 2dr 72-79 Thunderbirds and 68-76 Mark Series Lincolns.
On the subject of 71/72 LTD convertibles. I have a rare one. How about a 71 LTD Convertible with a factory column shift 3 speed manual transmission According to the Marti report it's a one of one car.
Tedy's correct, it took 460 Ford power to carry Frank Cannon around! Jed Clampett/Barnaby Jones drove LTD's/Galaxie 500's I believe?
