Thanks Dennis from Dennis. I don't have a dog either. The rug is partially under the sofa and easy chair so no one can pull it from under me.
Enjoy the races and stay regular. I am just hoping those regular members who haven't been around are okay.

I feel compelled to chime in here on this thread. I've been a member for a few years and my "admission ticket" was my 1975 Caprice Estate clamshell wagon. Since selling it last year, I've simply been lurking about here; doing so helps some with the withdrawal symptoms, lol. I owned that wagon for six years. I enjoy reading what other folks here are buying/doing with regards to station wagons.
Shortly after selling my wagon, I happened upon a '70 Caprice Custom Coupe that I just could not pass up. It was a barn find in every sense of the phrase. I brought it back to life and thoroughly enjoyed it, but it didn't quite satisfy the wagon craving that still haunts me. I sold the coupe about a week ago and am casually looking for another wagon. :)

Hi Glide, I'd like to see the '70 Caprice Custom Coupe, they were sharp looking back in the day, can you post any pics of it?

Let's keep haunting Glide-Aways until he gets another station wagon. Glad you took a break from lurking.

I was gone for a while

I lost my password & the one I thought it was wouldn't work. Meanwhile, we bought a 34 foot 1998 motorhome (would that be considered a 'loooonnngroof?) and that's kept me busy.

I wanted a trailer to pull behind the '58 delivery (Airstream!) but I found out it wouldn't pull that kind of weight. Then, the significant other said "Slides or no deal!". There went the Airstream idea. Then it had to be at least a 30 footer... Pulling that big a trailer would mean buying a truck too, so we decided to look at motorhomes so I only had buy one thing instead of 2.

Anyway this has nothing to do with wagons so I'll go back to lurking...

PS: Heard about Fox way too late...lost my Mom to cancer too...

jrwscout: Thanks, searching casually now, but will get more serious about it soon. I'd love another Clamshell, yes, but this time around I am also open to a 1970 model or MAYBE a 1983/1985 model. Regardless of the generation, I am partial to the Caprice (Kingswood) model over Impala wagons; only because it's the Caprice that reminds me of my childhood. :D

MotoMike: Yes, the Caprice sedans and coupes were indeed very sharp. If I'm doing this correctly, there is a pic attached here. Mine was lightly optioned (manual windows, no c/c or tilt) with what I call the "handsome" hub caps (color coordinated), extra body molding and AC.

CatModelT: Thanks for the encouragement! (y)

Thanks fannie! It's good to be back, even if I don't (yet) have another wagon LOL.
