I was very encouraged with my short test ride...made a big difference, especially in conjunction with the rear bar.

I want this thing to handle like my 1979 Trans Am WS-6 handled when it was new. I don't think I'm there yet, but it's getting closer.

Went to Walmart today and bought 5 Megueir's detail kists on clearance for $8 each. Came home backed the wagon out and decided to try out my new supplies. Opened the doors of the wagon and said DAMN, how did I buy this thing for $2,500. Wiped down the entire interior and cleaned the door jambs. Started working on my spare set of headlight surrounds to get psint removed and polished the new lower fillers. Hopefully get these installed tomorrow and then start on my under dash speaker boxes

Oh, if either wagon was in pieces, that'd even be harder!!! I do wish they were in a garage though.

I can't even legally have the Mercury on the road this month, because of the Collector Plates.

I feel your pain:(, last winter I barned the 83 and daily drove the 87. This winter the barn is full of construction materials and not only am I not daily driving the 2, I have a third one to take crae of..

Today it's not raining 'yet' so I'll be running them all, sneak them each arournd the block to keep them moving, spit and polish the best I can. Alot bs work but in my damp climate it needs to be done and I allways have to keep on top of it.

dutchys68belairwagon: WOW, you must have spent a LOT of hours making and welding those patches - looks good!
And the frame/running gear also looks excellent - will you have it ready for spring cruising?

Also; could not view the 68 album...it's a "Private album".

And I wish I had your workshop!!!

and yep, many many hours, but thats what i love doing and keeps me on the right side of the law…….:rofl2:
The workshop i'm using belongs to a buddy of mine, who lets me mock around a bit. Every now and then he can use a hand and then all he has to do is yell and i'm there….still i am very fortunate to have this working space!

So what's the 68 look like now?
Is the spiderweb roof the final product, or did you paint over that?
I couldn't tell which pictures were the most recent.

Did an oil change today. Would have taken me about 1/2 the time, but I couldn't remember where I put the d&*@ filter that I bought a week ago....

This will be the last time I follow Chevy's 'oil minder' on the driver information center of the HHR. I mus have gone around 10,000 since the last change, and the D.I.C. said I still had 28% oil 'life' left. Oil looked pretty dirty when I drained it. I'm going to go a max of 7,500 from now on...Oil and filter are pretty cheap, and it's easy to do on this vehicle - just need to drive it up on the ramps.

You're right, the pics haven't been sorted yet..:banghead3: I will get to that later……
The 68 is parked in our garden , under a big canopy (she was parked looking like this)[IMG]
My goal is to get the 64 on the road, and then i will finish of the bits and pieces that need to be done on the 68 ( 1st thing is getting rid of all the dust )
The only car we have on the road at this time is a 1998 renault laguna wagon, and it's not funny………...it has been way to long sins we drove our old american iron on the Dutch roads.( i just need my daily dose of V8 )(y)
About the roof on the 68….it was laced (gunmetal gray over flat black), flaked ( homemade mix) and then 6 or 7 coats of clear, and thats how it's gonna stay.
( the scallops were done in the same gunmetal gray, just need to outline them with my pinstripe brush)

    Paul,
I think that roof looks very cool. It obviously was a lot of work, it's unique and interesting. Nice job!
