Good job. :yippee: A lot of folks today have no idea that the Ford tailgates at that time opened like a door also. Of course the hinges don't bear up over the years either!!:taz:

Thanks. These hinges are working though.

Someone mentioned that he knew someone who had a Diesel wagon.

    Installed new radiator today.

I put the new radiator in the cruiser today, haven't got to do much lately to it. Feels good to get it more roadworthy. :)

Moved the Frontenac into the shop and cleaned out the interior. Removed patches on the floor to see what work has to be done. Got it running for the first time in many years.

Had a local shop replace the air shocks. Once I saw how much trouble those guys had getting the top bolts out, the $200 they charged for parts and labor was totally worth it!

They had it up on the lift, with as many ratchet extensions as they needed, and I would have been on my back, sweating, in the rain cussing my stupidity...

That's a great looking wagon. Don't believe I've seen a full sized wagon with a full sized sliding cloth roof.
Wheels and wood trim also look nice.

That sunroof is kinda cool, nowukno:pub:,,,,the wagon as whole is pretty darn(y)(y)(y)

I de-barned my 83 today after almost a year of storage. Flashed rite up but I expected that considering I start and drive it around the barn/farm now and then.

I figure I'll just drive it a month and barn it again..... I prefer the big Buick but I must say the Crewzer is still a dam fine comfy ride and very quiet witch I like ALOT.

Yup, need new paint.... Nope, not gona happen:p

Nope, not going to put the mags back on.... I'm just to lazy:rednose:

Nope, not going to put the roof rack back on either....that lazy thing again:yup:

As it sits just got home, still a bit dusty from storage inside and out. Tomorrow will be clean and detail day, tonight will be take the mags out toss the dogs in and take a nice drive when the honey gets home to a park.

Original paint has taken some wear and tear since I've owned it, a couple winters uncovered yet driven have taken there toll. 88236KM's is the original millage = only 54827 Miles for real.

as mentioned, will be getting a good detail tomorrow but here is the cockpit, both seats 6 way power and recline with console donated from a 200? Chrysler Concord..... the original bench aloth mint just didn't provide comfort and leg room....and then there was the, it looks way better than factory factor complete with 99% colour match

I am going to try these wheel covers this time around and if I don't like them a eazy change..... I have several sets of old hub caps. BTW, any old timers out there that can tell me what these belonged to when new... I know what they are from, do you?:)

I washed it this AM and kinda like these hub caps so they will stay. I have all ways preached to people about not using there wagons as work mules so today I'm :hide:, I could have borrowed a truck from next door or just hooked my utility trailer up to the Escape but the car shinned up pretty good so I said screw it. After I washed it I got a small side job for this afternoon replacing some 2x6 patio ledge rails. Gona have a snack then load some tools and go. If I had to remove scrap from the side job though I wouldn't be using the wagon.

Some may not like the look but I like these hub caps on the wagon with the w-walls......

    Have a good day everyone:tiphat:

I forgot but think those hubcaps are 60's Plymouth. Maybe 59.
If I was an old timer I'd probably know.
Wagon looks good loaded and ready to work.

You got the make correct but off on the year, they are from a 57, this I know. But I don't know if they shared a few model years use.

57-58 was my gut feeling. I like most old 56 thru 59 hubcaps.
I should have gone with my gut feeling but I just thought I had a belly ache!:slap:

I still have some old Caddy hubcaps like those Sombrero caps of maybe 55-56 and a couple of nice 57 Caddy caps plus others. If my 55 Chevy didn't have Cragers I'd rather have old full hubcaps on it.
People spend a fortune buying modern fancy wheels when those old hubcaps look nice.
The added exercise running up and down the road looking for them is fun too. When cars had hub caps you didn't see so many fat people. :slap:

Well as a suspected it didn't take long for the old 96 rodie to break again . This time it's a brake line. The one running to the rear. Since NOTHING on the brake system has ever been opened in the 18 years I have owned it I expect to replace everything from the ABS unit back to the wheel cylinders! Everything looks quite crunchy. The parts are cheap it is the time and labor that will be a killer. This would be one of the many times I wished I had a lift. This one I can't blame on his crazy sound system. Just a case of Old Midwestern car salted road blues.

When it comes to brakes do it right. I was shocked when I bought my 55 Chevy wagon and a few other older cars how rusted the brake lines were. It all seems to start with replacing one rubber line or one wheel cylinder. Then you look at those metal lines and see tiny rust spots and maybe kinks.
We've always just bought assorted premade lines and pieced ours together. I know it's not as pretty and there are more connectors to deal with. I trust those premade fittings more than mine and others trying to make those double flairs and bends.
Seems like most newer metal is soft enough it bends easy with a cheap tool and I just get a few slightly longer short lines to get everything connected using those little couplers. Don't forget the two front and single rear rubber hose. Wagon has been that way 25 years and others even longer.
It's better to wait a month until it snows up there. The ground will be cooler and softer!
