it looks like the 58 Chevy may have hit a few things on the way up that hill.

#31103 really brings back memories of my parents and their friends visiting during Maryland summers. Lawn chairs, cigarettes and lots of laughter.

What makes me a sad when I look at all these great pictures is that many of the small businesses are gone, replaced by the big box stores and now the downtowns in many cases are dying because of them.

Consumers voting small businesses out with their pocketbooks are to blame for that.
That photograph itself raises plenty of other questions. Mainly, what's with the absence of television antennas?
In that neighborhood, all you see are Fords and two exotic foreign cars.
Both the Thunderbird and Lincoln weren't the most inexpensive vehicles of their time. Nevertheless, that subdivision appears to be quite spartan, given that both visible driveways aren't even paved. But instead, they're laid over with gravel.
That woman sitting there is a dead ringer for a G.I.'s imported German bride.
There appears to be absolutely no rust damage and front license plates weren't yet mandated in this state. So, could being located within the Rust Belt get excluded?

I have pictures of my grandparents in that era with my parents and any southern state from Texas to Alabama could fit the bill. It honestly looks like my old neighborhood in Lubbock, Texas, complete with gravel driveway.
