The Boston Opera House, originally a “Movie Palace,” opened in 1928 and is located at 539 Washington St., one block east of the Boston Common. This Kodachrome image is a view of the Opera House parking lot in late 1958 by Rudolf O. Oberg.

A little later than "late 1958" for the the opera house parking lot. When I spotted the red 61 Dodge Lancer in the lower right corner of the photo, I took a closer look. I also see a 61-63 style Ramber American, a 61 or 62 Tempest, a 61 Olds F85 (in the parking lot across the street), a couple 61 Impalas, a 60 Buick Electra, a 60 Olds, a 61 Olds, a black Falcon on the street whose grille looks more like a 62 than a 60 or 61, and a couple Corvairs.

 

MAN! There was a lot of awesomeness going on in that last post!
