We had a superette ("Hank's") down the street from my house growing up. It was there until the owner (Hank) decided to retire in 1988 and closed it. I honestly had no idea what they were until I did some research years later. Definitely a relic of the past, even in the 1980s. Right at place in that photo in the early 1960s though!

The “Forth Worth Star-Telegram” photos were taken on opening day of the Plaza in October of 1953.

 

That Bob Longpre Pontiac property in Monrovia, CA is now a large furniture store called 'Living Spaces'. The dealership itself moved to a 'Auto Mall' the city set up along side the (210) Foothill Freeway, back in the 80's. Not sure which make is occupying the space now....
