    This appears to have been taken at or around the Ford styling studio. Both the Thunderbird in front, and the one behind it show elements that were never put on the 2-seater Thunderbirds. The sculpted trim on the black one is similar to the trim used on the '56 Fairlane. I seem to remember reading something that indicated Ford was considering using this trim on the '56 Thunderbird, but decided not to.

    Also looks like they were checking out a '55 Nomad as well......

    The Lighthouse is still open after all these years. The short block it's on is now a pedestrian promenade, so no cars in front. Looking at the club, from the vantage point of the photographer, the Pacific Ocean (and the Hermosa Beach pier) is about 300' to your right.

    I lived not too far from here in the mid 70's, shortly after getting married. Never went to the Lighthouse though - wasn't into Jazz....
