i've had bad experiences with those pour in fixers. real bad experience... It's the valve guides that are going bad and if i am going to replace those then i'm just going to have the whole thing rebuilt. that and i plan on taking a road trip in febuary of next year from here in indiana to arizona. I mean come on, it's a wagon, it's meant for road trips!!!

they are meant for road trips, and i have two that im dying to take on a trip. ive been on a trip in one of them 2 years ago, but my Colony Park im ready to put on the road, but she still needs alot more work before shes trip ready. I putt around town in it, but dont trust the brakes or tires on a trip.

Great work on the buick, wish i still had my baby blue 88 electra. on that idle issue are you sure your choke is adjusted correctly? my 88 had a smoke on start up and stalling at stops in drive problem that was actually the choke throwing in too much fuel. and you couldnt see it smoking when it was idling, but if you let it sit in the yard and idle for 10 mins you could look out and it was sitting in a blue haze, but you couldnt actually see the smoke coming from the tail pipe. had the choke adjusted and fixed the problem. excess fuel and oil burn at very near the same color.

also my mercury smokes a tad on start up and i think i have an oil return clogged, it only does it after its run for a while. Amsoil makes a flush for this. safe for your engines
