It wasn't a rust bucket, either. Imagine how many classic cars would still be around, had Derbyism become illegal to the point of becoming a felony offense. Of course, you'd force them into doing it in secret. But then, they'd be left on their own, without enjoying the services of ambulances and fire departments which would otherwise put them at risk of getting locked up
I'd say it met it's fate in a grassroots stockcar race, but I get your point. So many beautiful classics were destroyed in this way because they were just cheap used cars at the time.
