    '56 and '58 Fords looked good, IMHO. I wonder if those ugly '57s were part of the reasons as to why '57 Chevies were so popular

    The 57 Chevy enjoyed an 'extended' model year production from what I've read about them. During the regular model year the Ford outsold them, bad taste reigned at the time I guess. I don't like the 57 Ford headlight area and I don't like the 58 Chevy much either. And thanks, Ivy, for changing that awful avatar pic that looked too much like an old co worker of mine!

    It is a bit ironic that FORD outsold Chevrolet in 1957 and yet the 57 Chevy has become the unmistakable automotive icon of the era.
