0E568EC6-AB1B-4045-AEC7-61A2704B89D7.jpeg We used to draw out a big map of the U.S. on a dry erase board with the roads we were taking. Up until we left for our trips we were allowed to add stops along the way. Old roadside attractions, restaurants, (especially diners,drive-ins and dives), ghost towns etc.
It made it fun for the kids to research and plot their course. It was so exciting to see their faces when they reached thier destinations.

Han was set on getting to see the Cadillac Ranch. I tricked her by stopping at the Bug Ranch which wasn’t too far and on the way… E1B720A1-AC66-4DCB-8002-0008FE6691B7.jpeg we did leave some marks.

This last one was from our last trip out west in 2018 when we took the Mercedes wagon.

Last March we were down in Vancouver to see a specialist for Mrs. OrthmannJ. There is a pretty neat diner there on one of the main arterials that reminds me of Krolls.
    It is called The Stardust

Unfortunately we were not driving the Fury. It was a "travels of the Freestyle" adventure. Didn't stop the boys from enjoying some ice cream though...

I'm looking forward to the road trip, but there are plenty of adventures to have between now and then. Just want to make sure I'm as prepared as possible when the time arrives.

Spring is taking it’s sweet time getting here. But I’m tired of waiting. Cruising season has officially begun.

My sister and her family are moving back here and they just closed on their house. So the boys and I took a little drive to check the place out.

    And then, of course, milkshakes.

    There's always time for shakes.
Btw, as it stands right now we'll hit Yakima sometime on the afternoon on July 24th, stay for the 25'th and head out to catch the ferry on the 26'th.

Yes indeed. OK. Thanks for letting me know. As of right this moment there isn't anything going on that would conflict with that.

Next phase of Fury upgrades has begun. I searched for a long time to find a four barrel intake for the poly head 318. They are rare as hen’s teeth. I did eventually find one at the same place that had the rear interior panels for sale. (62-65 B-body Mopar heaven)

I am finally ready to get this leg of the journey started!
My buddy from work took it home last Friday to do a little cleanup on it.

He sent me this the other night

Looking pretty good if I do say so myself.

That's got a good surface to paint. Do you use a MAPP torch to warm the metal before applying the paint?

Yes it is. He's going to start painting it this evening. I don't know what method he uses.
