The Fury got some love over the past weekend. We were galivanting all over the countryside.

There is a fellow that worked at LOWES for years that drove a 1965 Fury 1 to work. I would often see it in the parking lot, but never at the same time I drove my Fury. I even was introduced to him once and we spoke about our cars, but again on a day that I drove something else.
Been a while since I've seen it and now I know why. He must have switched jobs. This weekend we found out where his new place of work is AND we were driving the Fury.

I'm a sucker for original dealer emblems, and this one had a pretty neat one.

I wish I had been driving the Fury the following day because I happened to come across this:

    IMG_0191.JPG

It looks like a 66 from the tail lights. I haven't seen it around before, so I am hoping it's a fresh car owned by someone here locally. I can't wait to check it out and compare the paint color to my car.

Nice shot. :thumbs2: I perpetually LOVE your car.

Those are a couple nice lookin' Fury's there! :) Is his an original survivor too? Sure looks like it could be! His is a 1967 model though. ;)

Yep. That's definitely a '66. That's so cool seeing a car like that in your area for the first time. It certainly looks like the same colour! Hopefully you run into the owner to get the full scoop! :)

    As always, thanks for sharing!

The '67 looks like a detective's car, but likely was just bought by someone who low-optioned it out.

On the '66, you should've left a note, introduced yourself and your wagon.

I thought it had a detective's vibe to it too. Tons of base model cars were bought here in Canada, pre-80s especially, so there's tons of cars like that up here. Typically a 4dr. with a straight 6 engine, 3-on-the-tree and rubber floor mats, and maybe optioned with an automatic trans., AM radio (sometimes a radio delete), interior dome light or passenger side mirror, etc. There were higher equipped cars too, of course, but those tended to be the predominant kind of car here. Particularly in farm country.

    Good idea. (y)

Funny enough, but of the 1965-'66 Fury body style, I always see way more 1966 models at car shows and for sale here in Canada. I don't know why, but there just seems to be way more '66s here for some reason. I don't know if 1966 models far outsold the 1965s (maybe there was a big nationwide discount on '66s?), or if '66s just "happened" to survive more than '65s did, but I always see way more '66s here.

Surviving really depended on what the factory did in design engineering and metal prep work; I think 1966 was kind of a "Let's change these things" point, in order to make cars last a bit longer, especially in the Rust Belt.

That's a good idea. Unfortunately I was on the clock, in a company vehicle and I had somewhere I needed to be.

Took my high school summer of 1967 Driver's Training course in a 1967 version of that same vehicle -a white 4-door Plymouth Fury III hardtop. Those full-sized Chrysler Corp vehicles from that period were GOOD cars........

Especially the 111s and the VIP. Our neighbor had a yellow ‘67 VIP with black vinyl top, and black cloth Interior. It was every bit as nice as an LTD

The boys started School this week. So their summer break is officially over. They wanted to jam as much fun into the last few days as possible.

    We gave it a shot.

Gotta ask, Jeremiah - Is that trolley electric, and powered by a gas-powered generator on wheels, out back? AWESOME!
