Is this near you? Very scarey. We've been keeping up on the news, it's been a nasty few days for alot of folks...hope everyone is OK.

    Anyone heard from Snoot yet?

How about you Stefan? It sounds like Montreal was hit pretty hard?

Yikes, what a crazy, crazy past few days. First and foremost, I'm fine.
I left Long Beach Island about 8:00 Saturday night as it was getting kind of scary!! I headed back to Cranford and it was even worse there! I woke up Sunday morning to three feet of water right off my front porch and about 10" of water in my basement. I did have some stuff down there that got ruined but nothing, really of any worth. If you go on youtube and search for Cranford flooding, you'll see a whole bunch of videos. We've a river that runs through the town so we've had flooding before, but nothing, nothing like this.
This is my week's vacation so I headed back to Long Beach Island Monday afternoon eventhough I still didn't have power, phone or hot water in Cranford. Then, when I got here, I heard Irene had devestated Vermont. (KK, don't you live in Vermont? How are you?) You'll recall my brother and I own a house in Chester and that got hit very bad! Finally got word only yesterday that the house is fine, though the highways and the neighboring town of LUdlow are badly destroyed. Oh boy.
Internet here on LBI is very sketchy still, to say the least so I hope I'm able to post this before it gives out again. Bottom line is that the LBI house is fine, the Vermont house is fine and Cranford will be okay.
Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts, everybody. Looks like they worked.
Crazy couple of days. Can't wait for things to get back to normal.
