It's not even a regulation in Canada. It's retailers that are pushing this upsell strategy. Even the Car Insurance companies haven't got exclusion clauses. Not even a sniff of liability, unless the tires delaminate or rip apart.

Last time I went to a chain store with my wagon I went to grease monkey. I saw them spraying the underside of the cars when they were done with a hose to clean them up. I told the guy not to do it, and he did anyway, so just before closing with a line of cars I sat in the bay for 45 minutes detailing the front end of the car... After that I decided if anyone but me or my dad was working on my car it'd be a friend's shop...

    Note to self:
NEVER, EVER let anyone at WalMart touch my car.
    NEVER.
1)The chance of a screw up is very great.
    2) That sort of thing only encourages them.
    3) Never get them wet, and never feed them after midnight.

ya know, blackfoot, another thing that jerks my gerkin here is the fact that they essentialy told you it was an "old car" as if you would all of a sudden realize that your car was an old heap and not care!!!!

sorry but that would push me harder to screw them.
did you read about the guy over on the impala forum that took his caprice wagon in to a chevy dealer to have a door painted?

they coated the whole car with overspray, and when he complained to the manager he was told "sir its an old car" i dont care, ITS YOUR CAR DAMN IT! you have a Right to get that car back, at the very least, in the condition you took it in! if that was a 92 vette i bet they wouldnt have said that! PRICKS!

I've been using Bridgesone Blizzak snow tires since 1993 and I've never had a problem with the tires not being 'pliable', even when at -15/-20. Not with the current version I'm using, or either of the 2 other compounds I've used.

As for people working on my car..... hell, I'm dropping my off at Mazda for alignment tomorrow and I'll probably have trouble falling asleep because of it. Other than alignment and major body shop, I let nobody touch my car. The one time I did in 20 years the idiots decided they knew better than I did and didn't replace the part I instructed them to. It ended-up with me getting their part for free, plus the part I wanted installed for parts-cost only.....
