You are not paranoid, SD. It's all coming true. And I thought that it only happened in OTHER countries. The government now owns 60% of GM...what kind of cars do you think we will be getting in the future? There will be no nice old used cars anymore and they will take ours right out of the driveway. GM just sold Hummer to a Chinese company....I wonder what that will mean in a time of war in the future....will we have the reliable Hummer vehicles for our troops? No. But China will. The people of this country need to stop bitching about each segment the government takes over and screws us with. We need to see the big picture, stop bitching and REACT.

All the more reason to publicly urge non-compliance with this sort of law. Aside from the fact many naive people will play in to this and lose their car AND their financial standing...

The future will bring bicycles for the masses. Only governmental workers will have cars. Sound familiar?

A pearl of wisdom from an old friend; "Just because you are paranoid, does not mean that they are not out to get you." :disagree:

And only high ranking government workers...It would seem the West and China are trading places,in more ways than one...Bicycles are no longer allowed on the streets of Shanghai.Too many bicyclists were getting run over...Soon,in reverse psychology, cars will be banned from American roads because too many bicyclists will be getting run over...And Soylent Green will be people...

Hi all, I haven't been doing much work since I joined this forum:)

It's hard not to touch on politics, and I have never been one for politics, however the intrusion of government into our daily lives can no longer be ignored.
I read with concern of the pending issues and gov schemes to further intrude our lives and rights......For some time now down here, the local Councils hire small planes to conduct aerial survellaince of properties within their domain. They claim this is to primarily monitor illegal activities such as unauthorised buildings/extensions.
I think it's about a lot more.....With the use of 'Spin' nowadays, many people just don't look beyond it and readily accept the 'spin' spewed forth by gov.
We had an incident last week, where it was reported that a failure in a water treatment plant had resulted in a massive overdose of fluoride contaminating a communitys' water supply......the 'Spin', well there are 3 versions so far......& I think the Gov are ready to release excuse spin #4?

How long would it be before our cars are removed, given the above scenarios.

Not long, GMW...not long. It's like cancer...once it starts there's hardly anything that will stop it. Meanwhile...people just sit and bitch while their freedoms are taken away.

Trouble with 'Heritage' or Classic plates are all the conditions that go with it. To and From the show or a Service garage. Only between sunrise and sunset, etc.

I hate that idea, Norm. But, if it comes down to it...better that than the crusher.
