I was using 'AMP' as a keyword in Google, and landed on a Cruise Control conversion for Mark VII's. Then I clicked Links! 300 MPH Mark VIIs!!!!

Lots of other Lincoln stuff, including a comparison of Ford vs. Chevy. (Fords win, BTW!! :rofl2:)

It would take less time than that.

I remember watching some guy try to do that(jumping over the St. Lawrence)when I was a kid.Recently re-watched it on Youtube. It was a Mark IV back then, and I felt real bad for the car,as it literally disintegrated in the air...Youngsters left comments that,if the guy had tried it in a Honda or a Toyota he'd've made it.His mistake was using a American car...NO!..His mistake was thinking he was going to be able jump a car,any car, over the St. Lawrence...:naughty:

The Australian gov tried this many years ago with firearms, then legislated it to law, then it became mandatory to cash in ALL firearms deemed automatic, semi automatic, high powered and so on & so on.........We are now a majority disarmed nation.
It is also near impossible to obtain a firearm licence for an air rifle (I think you may call them bb gun?)
I currently have a thread on an incentive the Aust gov has introduced to stimulate the car industry down here!!http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4737

WOW...I didn't know Australia had banned firearms! Man...I remember when I was a young guy I was thinking of going to look around Australia with thoughts of perhaps moving there. It was full of tough pioneer type people back then. Well...that's what happens when you allow your government to take your country away from the people. The people coming up in the USA will never see or enjoy the great life I had when growing up. Not ever again. What a shame. I'm having trouble putting up with the government now...I can't imagine how it will be years after I am gone. I don't even like to think about it. And, therein, may lie the problem.

Yes Silverfox, unfortunately the governments here have always pandered to the (noisy) minorities. The whole country at the moment is under a Labour (akin to socialist) Government control, that is Federal as well as all our States!!
My biggest mistake was handing in my gun licence back then, cause now it's near impossible to obtain. I was brought up with firearms, and as a kid, went on many hunting trips with my old man.
Now I live out in the country amongst a forest and wanted to get an air rifle just to teach my boys. But can't come up with an acceptable reason (acceptable to the gov) to own one.
The only wild animals we have are the Kangaroos and a few Koalas and they're protected!! As are all our deadly snakes!! We can't defend our property with firearms (that's illegal here) so they really narrowed the criteria?
Sorry for hijacking the thread with this rant, but the type of legislation at the start of this thread concerns me!!

You didn't hijack it. You brought it back to its original intent.
Guns aren't necessarily my thing but taking them from people is just another sign of socialist take over. I'll bet the criminals get get guns there, right?

Yes, ironically there was an armed robbery Sunday morning (31-05-09) in Sydney which turned into a hostage siege and 1 police officer shot (not fatally).

I'd read something here,in the USA,that right after all the good citizens of Australia turned in their fire-arms,gun related crimes actually went up... It'll be a strange day indeed, when one of us is on a televised car chase,NOT because we've done something illegal in our car,but just because we are IN our car... "They can have my station-wagon,when they they pry it from my cold dead hands."

oh, i doubt they will take it. however with fines and "enhanced registration fee's" you may not be able to afford to run it.

i was just informed on the impala ss forum that cali had moble dyno's that they randomly smog check your car. i fear that may happen everywhere. tighten the emissions on old cars so much that you cant run them.

i can see in the future ....once the liberals have settled in, them making it illegal to own a classic car because it reminds us of a horrible time when we were being selfish and noth thinking of mother nature first.

ok thats my paranoid, farenheit 451-meets-liberal utopia rant for today children!
