    Olive Green vs Olive Drab...
If I stay with one of those, it would be Combat OG. First off, and to be correct, Olive Drab is a flat color. Second, I could say the OG also stands for "Ole Guy". ;-)

Went bird hunting yesterday in a central Texas town called Karnes City. The doves were sparse and I only got 10 (the limit is 15). I was truly disappointed. A week ago the landowner called and said the birds were there. About a dozen of us planned the trip for yesterday, but Tuesday a fast moving front came through and we think it scattered the birds:-( .
Dove hunting is an "ambush" you position yourself in the flight line and try to blend in to your surroundings. We were in a milo field and the birds were not predictable. I sat in the middle of the field and had to throw up some long shots. (which I missed) I lost two birds on the ground. I still had fun, just burning powder.

I had planned a fishing trip for Sunday, but my neighbor, whose boat we were taking had a motorcycle accident and broke his leg!! :-( So, that's out.

I guess I'll barbeque instead. Ribs, chicken, pork chops and bacon wrapped doves!!

Gotta go, today is the wife's birthday!! She says she's 37 but she's dyslectic :)

Glad to hear you were able to get out into the field, even if the results were a little disappointing. Wish Mrs. Paladin happy birthday from us.

Point taken, you are absolutely right. And Sarge is not a 'drab' car.

So far, it looks like "Combat OG" until and unless someone come up with a better name. I remember Vick Marrow in the black and white TV drama. I still watch it occasionally.

As a matter of course, the show format would alternate stories from the Sergeant's and the Lieutenant's points of view. So when the title theme begins, the portrait of the character the episode follows is what comes up.

I may have mentioned this. I decided to upgrade Sarge with a 700R4 transmission. I was in the muffler shop one day and saw a tranny they were pulling out. It turned out to be a 700R4 they were replacing. I asked what they were gonna do with the bad tranny and was told that the owner tried and failed to sell it. The owner of the shop is an old friend and asked if it was for the wagon. "Yep, I said." "Take it, he said"
We loaded it in the wagon and I took it straight to another shop. I got a text from that shop three days ago saying my tranny is ready. Problem is the shop is too busy right now to do the swap. There was a time I would have done that myself, but after I turned 70 I quit crawling under cars. So I'm calling a couple of shops to see who can do the job.

    Gonna be Sarge's XMas present.

Too bad you're 180 miles away, I'd be down for an upgrade.

Unfortunately, Sarge didn't get out on Veteran's day. He's stuck in the Motor Pool.

I have a recurring problem with my alternator. It has a diode on it to prevent run-on when I shut it off. Problem is, the diode reduces the power output of the alternator and when I turn on certain components the power drops below 12 volts.

If I remove the diode, the power increases but the engine won't shut off with the key. I can disassemble a small block Chevy engine and put all the nuts, bolts and components in a box and put it back together but, I'm no good with electricity. If it can't be diagnosed with a test light, it's above my pay-grade. The guy who rewired Sarge suggest we remove the diode and replace it with a relay. Gonna try that next week.

    Wish me luck!!

Hope your Veteran's Day was a good one.
