You folks will see a massive assault on the 2nd amendment.
The gun grabbers have to make the most of this before the current news cycle rotates.
In Canada, section 91 and 92 of the criminal code make it a criminal offense to be in possession of a firearm with out a license. At least you have the right to bear arms to protect yourselves, which shall not be infringed.

they wanna start with modern sport rifles. the wrongfully call the assault rifles. then when corrected they call them assult "style" weapons. notice you are keeping the bad part of the name. they are mostly used for hunting and let me tell you i have fired an AR-15 (AR actually stands for Armalite Rifles) and it is head and shoulders better than the winchester 30-30 that i have. it shoots better, is far more comfortable than the 30-30 and is much more consistent. but it is villified because it looks scary. so does the hummer H1 and its more modern and better to use than a model T but it still functions the same.
If I recall correctly some guy lost it a couple years ago and drove a buick into an outdoor market killing a number of people and injuring more. not one person suggested banning cars. they blamed the nutcase not the tool. but now, we blame the tool because it fits a narrative!

I've felt sick about the shooting ever since it happened...

...and this morning, I picked my kids up from school because there were threats made that there will be shootings in several schools in our district, including my kids' schools. Police have been investigating and have only said that it is up to the parents as to whether they should keep their kids in school today. Increased police presence at the schools.

    I hate this...:(

The pink ribbons line the streets here in Utah, the local high school put up almost 10,000 ribbons. It's a very sober reminder, as I drove by the fence line yesterday my heart broke once again for those who lost their children. As the tears rolled down my face I had to pull over thinking about how incredibly hard this Christmas will be for those familes. From this Christmas forward it will always be a hard holiday, God bless them, now is when they need family and friends the very most.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, another gun enthusiast apparently excercised what he thought were his rights:
So has the USA become 1860 Tombstone AZ now?
When did we de evolve to the 1800s in this country?

No wonder the rest of the civilized world thinks we're all crazy.

I really take exception to this statement and am offended.
As a gun enthusiast I resent having this person put in the same category as myself.
Tell me, do I personally represent a threat to you?
    I am not a criminal.

Man Attempts to Open Fire on Crowd at Movie Theater, Armed Off-Duty Sergeant Drops Him

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says the off-duty sergeant, who was working security, heard the gunshots and came running. She saw the gunman coming out of the men’s restroom. The Sheriff’s Office says the gunman did not shoot at her, but his gun was drawn so she opened fire.
That off-duty sergeant, identified as Lisa Castellano, fired four times, wounding the gunman. Only one other person was wounded, a 49-year-old man inside the theater, who was hit by one of the gunman’s shots. Both are expected to recover.
Investigators say about 30 rounds were fired. It’s unclear why the break-up with his girlfriend caused the man to go after his co-workers. Investigators haven’t ruled out a love-triangle involving someone else at the restaurant.

This last shooting just proves it's not the guns we should worry about. It's those with the guns. Some are good "GUYS" or gals. But we mostly only hear the negative side. Without that fast acting officer this could have gone very badly.

I would say that you Canadians just don't get it. apparently Andy does though. people get shot in Canada yet handguns are banned...so that outta tell you something. I have two older cousins who are cops 1 state trooper and 1 city. they seize guns in drug busts and stings, guess what...a lot of them are foreign origin and FULL AUTO (illegal in the US since 1936) so the bad guys get guns. and when the bad guys get guns and the good guys don't you have ....Mexico! The Hitler youth (aka brown shirts) used to go around beating people who didnt agree with the political rhetoric. if you are gonna make that comparison i would make it with the TV media.
Do you know why I drive a truck for a living? I have 2 college degree's in mass communications. I literally learned how to make propaganda! I can't watch TV without wanting to throw a brick through it! this is because i see things...little things that the average shmoe doesn't. camera angles, ligthing, phrasing and so much more. people just dont pay attention to it because ..most wouldn't know what they are looking at. But it most certainly has a huge effect. I had an the opportunity to work for the PBS affiliate in tallahassee (WFSU) and i refused it because after i started noticing the effects it was having on even smart people i know, let alone the idiots. so i decided to do the only other thing that i enjoy once we moved back up here.

i digress, I would be happy to have Delaney attend a school with armed guards or better yet, teachers with concealed handguns AND TRAINING. that could mean the difference between 20 dead children or 1 dead nutcase.
I know some of you just aren't gonna get it. i can spit hard facts and numbers at you all day long.. and you will still not be convinced. and some are just trying to push a particular agenda so you will point out the 10 bad things and ignore the 200 good things. Some of you are convinced that just because i am pro gun or have a different political view, that somehow you are a better person than me so im not gonna waste my time anymore with this here. last thing we need is a political thread redux!

It's easy to play politics with other people's children.
They say, "no, you can't protect your kids, we need gun-free zones".

Reality check here - they are only gun-free until some bad guy shows up with a gun.
Then what? The lefties don't have much of an answer for that. They say ban the assault rifle, then no one will be able to harm your kids. Right, ok, ya sure.
If you have a better answer Tedy I'd like to hear it. Guns are here and here to stay.
You'll have to accept that reality.
But your blame is misplaced. We are all angry about this, but it's not my fault.
But if it comes to my own children I expect my school to have an answer when I ask them what they have planned if such event should occur? Or do they have their socially correct heads in the sand?
They have fire extinguishers do they not?
What do they have to protect my kids from a crazy lunatic?
What's disgusting is that the "socialists" and the media require a steady diet of killing and victims to further their confiscation agendas and boost ratings. Like lambs to a slaughter they say I shouldn't protect my kids, even though the bad guys are armed to the teeth, because they don't have to abide by the law. Why should my children provide the next sacrifice for your cause?

And by the way, we already have guns in schools. Look up school resource officer Toronto high schools. We've had police officers stationed at high schools for about four years. And considered to be a big success.

Heck, my high school had a rifle range. I used to shoot on lunch break. It was an extra-curricular activity credit. No one got killed, and we learned responsibility, safe firearms handling and markmanship. That was my culture, but the liberal social engineering project of the 80s made all that "socially unacceptable".

I'm not anti gun. I fully believe that taking away guns, especially in America, would be a potentially dangerous move. However, automatic weapons have no place in civilian settings. Ever! Look the fact of the matter is that bad things are going to happen. Some one had a bad life, abuse, neglect, etc... And they take it out on others. Some circumstances are going to be much worse than others. In short it is my firm belief that guns aren't so much the issue as it is society. If we didn't have guns it would be something else that was used. Last week in china a man went into a school with a knife and slashed up a bunch of children. 20 to be exact. How would that situation have been different if knives were banned? It's not the guns that are the problem. I appreciate that WGN news that there are a lot of people out there with mental illnesses and dissorders who would never hurt anybody. I have skitzotypal PD and I would never hurt anybody. I don't own a gun but I do wear a trench coat and listen to death/black metal music. I own an ax, machete, couple of hatchets, a sickle, several knives one of which is a foot and a half long ranger Bowie that Crocadile Dundee would be proud of. None of these priorly mentioned items I own have nor will ever be used as weapons. Even if I had a gun it wouldn't be my first choice in self defense unless I felt like I had no other options. I have had to have lots of psychological help over the last six years. I thank my wife Zoe for that. She knows a lot about human psychology and wants to go to school for psychology. I support her fully in this because our minds are the breeding grounds for all thing good and bad for humanity.

We've let this discussion get out of hand. We are all mad and upset.
There have always been people against having guns. I've know many who are against owning vehicles over a few years old.
There will always be those who don't "get it" and those who think they know it all!
Let's just remember those who have died and try to look at the good side of the upcoming holidays.
We are a fun loving station wagon loving family. HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
