i plan on hitting tx on friday and hoping to maybe go by dallas strokers and gas monkey garage if anyone is interested and the auto museum in texarkana is going to stay open till something like 10 pm for the tour
Cool! It's all over the South East. Will definitely make plans to check it out in Bham and Chattanooga. When and where do they provide info on the actual stops?
Power Tour 2013! I just booked my room for the 1st leg of Power Tour. I wonder what route it will be taking because I imagine a straight shot down IH-30 East isn't that much fun.
we would make quite a pic if we could get together as a group of wagons to cruise to the venue in texarkana. i did hear something about tracing the route pres kennedy took the day of his assination. is the first leg the only day your attending?
Yes, unfortunately so, but I'm gonna make the best of it. Once it gets closer and we know the route we'll see about meeting together to make the trip. This goes for anyone else that plans on attending as well. Open Invitation!
So glad to hear several of you are going. I don't think the Z will be ready, but we are still working on it. Hope springs eternal. At the very least our daughter wants to drive her vette, and our son wants to take his 2001 "firechicken". Reservations are made. Vacation time requested. Family vacation time! Planning to Long Haul.
Interstate vs Planned Route That's awesome behemoth! I wish I could do the long haul too, but it looks like so far my brother and my two kids, 6 and 11 are making the drive with me to Texarkana. I'd like to get an early start Sunday morning and join the "lead cars" via the PT route. I've been reading the HRPT forum and ALOT of folks take the interstate to get to the venues early or to take in the sights they want and still make it to the venue on time for the vendor raffles, main stage events, etc. Last year I had fun in Arlington, but it didn't seem like there was a whole lot to do other than enjoy the cars, some timed driving event, and the RC cars were pretty cool. I'm not too picky so all in all it was a great time! This year I plan on takin' a ride down memory lane with my kiddos and have them experience NO A/C in June...LOL!!!! I remember riding from Gary, IN all the way down to Mexico for our Summer vacation to visit family in HOT, HOT, HOT June with no A/C. My Dad would constantly ask for water and my 4 brothers and I would constantly ask, "Are we there yet??" LOL!!!!! Ol' good times!!!!
if you guys prerigister but cant make the whole tour let me know. if you register for the long ha ler we can meet in arlington hit the stage and stamp the card ,then i'll take it the rest of the way and we can split the long ha ler awards
It should be interesting, husband, myself, 3 adult kids, and our 9 and a 7 year old. I think we might be nuts.
59, Explain the long hauler awards??? I'm not sure what all that is. Behemoth yall are gonna have a full load for sure. That's not all in one car is it???
1-magnets from vendors form a sign 2-hot rod gives away a long ha ler award might be a folding chair, jacket, sign, backpack etc.
No, there is a mix of a vette, Pontiac firebird, 80 Z28, chevy conversion van. Not sure which ones for sure but a couple of them will be there.
Hopefully going tobe at Hoover, AL on June 5th. That is our Anniversary though, so might not make it. But we, I, am going to try to be there. Probably not enter though, just be a spectator with a cool wagon!
