I had a ‘62 LeBaron with push buttons and loved it. Our neighbors growing up had a ‘63 Plymouth wagon with what they called clunkomatic as the driver button would drop into the dash. They fixed it by drilling a tiny hold with a wire they ultimately fixed the issue in 1967 when they bought a new country Sedan

Surprise that was in stock. Lumber when you can find it is through the roof. Crazy

Might have to switch from buying old cars to buying old houses and parting them out.

I was ALMOST ready to start building the 'built-in' bench seating for our backyard deck, when two things happened, in quick succession....

    1. Lumber prices shot up almost overnight
    2. Wife decided she wanted a re-do on the master bathroom........NOW.

    So, guess what I'm doing.........

I redid ours about 10 years ago. Kept the old fixtures but tiled the floor, added stained birch paneling and a chair rail, made all new moldings, and repainted. Had to strip the funky, hillbilly wallpaper with roses on it.

Wife decided her 401K was making too much profit and decided to spend some of it. Last year we had new gutters hung and all the windows replaced with high energy efficient ones. I replaced all the exterior doors and storms with fancy Pella ones. This year she decides the phone booth sized shower is too small and the bath tub is too high since she had a total knee replacement. $16K and 3 months later we have a new bathroom. They gutted it and made the old shower space into a linen closet. The tub and extra space at the back of it is now a mega shower with a bench at the back. Both the shower and the floor got new tile. All fixtures replaced plus a granite top and deep sink on the cabinet. She's decided it's really nice, but wouldn't do it again because of all the aggravation involved.
