In speaking with the owner it sounds like an interesting car but he also said the photos make it look better than it really is. It has some rust that's been duraglas repaired. He said he wouldn't budge on the price.
At least he's honest. '72s are fairly hard to find, being the only year that front nose was made. These '70s intermediate Ford wagons can be hard to find, period. I ended up finding my Montego in California, and having it shipped. Finding one within driving distance may make it worth checking out.
Here's a nice '74 with a 460 in Baltimore. It's been out there for well over a month, so not sure it's still available. http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/4032326520.html A '72 6 cyl in New Hampshire. http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/4028423058.html
Welcome to the group DeeGee . Hope you find what you primarily want rather than settling for less . Good Luck . Kind regards, Wizzard
welcome, this forum is full of great people and amazing rides, and i'm sure you'll be glad you found it.
This is funny, DeeGee. Reading your intro thread about wanting an early 70's Torino, my thoughts went immediately to that exact '72 you pictured later down the page. Great minds think alike, right? We had posted it a couple of weeks ago in our 'Auctions, Craig's List....' section. Personally, I think you should get it, in spite of it's issues and firm price. I think it's still a good deal for what it is. A 'loaded' wagon, too, with rare equipment. Welcome to the forum! Marshall
Thanks all for the warm welcomes! I help admin a 71-73 mustang forum that is incredibly friendly and a great group of guys and a few gals. I'm involved in several other specialized interest forums as well. None of the others are friendly. The welcomes I've received on here rival that of my big body mustang forum! That's pretty amazing to me so thanks! By the way, DeeGee are my initials D G. My name is Don. The owner and I have been talking about the 72 G Torino wagon and told him tonight to consider it sold. We have to work out the details since he's several hours away but it looks like it's a go! Woohoo!
Awesome news! Keep us updated. And post up pics when you get it. Guess you were able to talk your wife into it, after all?
um yeah, about that. I hope she'll enjoy the idea more once the car is here. We made it to Crusin' the Coast today and saw two wagons among the sea of classics, antiques, muscle cars and rat rods. Both of those long roofs looked great to me!
Awsome! I'm really stoked that Torino is ending up as a 'SWF wagon'! My wagon came from Wisconsin, and was inspected prior to my purchase by a forum member here. If you need somebody to look at it for you, there's probably a member within driving distance.
So I just found the Wagons in vintage Street scenes thread. Simply amazing! I find myself lost in memories of a by gone era. Those are some fantastic photos. Well done!
