Great buy on that Pinto. Looks to be in superb condition! 73 was the last year for the small bumpers that look so much nicer, too. If gas mileage is a real concern, especially on the highway, it is an easy upgrade to get the mechanical AOD out of an 80s 4 cylinder Mustang and pop it in. It should bolt right on up since the 2.3 litre 4 banger is the same. To be honest, if the drivetrain ever needs doing in the Pinto, that fuel injected 2.3 litre Mustang one is cheap, easy to find, and gives excellent fuel economy, plus the added benefit of fuel injection. The carburetor on those Pinto engines can be a bit finicky to work with. The extra gear makes a big difference to the economy. A 5 speed manual is also a good option on these cars, as it wakes them up quite a bit.

Great looking little pony! My Grandparents had a pinto coupe with the 4 banger and 4 speed that was the exact same color. My cousin has it now.

Congrats on the new ride Dianne.

Had driver's ed in a pinto, and a Pinto Wagon was nearly my first car.

    Cool find!

Thanks for all the comments. It doesn't look new close up! I'm getting the body work done this week on it and if the paint I ordered comes in, will spray it next week!

I love the Pink on Pink Rambler wagon LOL It's actually Rose and Mauve though, but faded bad on the car.

Thinking about what to keep out of three cars, and the Wagons are winning over the Maverick! LOL

    Thanks everyone!

Denny, any wagon that small qualifies as "CUTE"! And Dianne, I love the name Milo for the little guy. Suits him to a tee!
