My latest brainwave on fuel.

    When I get the Hydrogen Calculator done, I'll put up a downloadable ZIP file, so we can play with the volumes/horsepower/humidity requirement, as well as acceleration vacuum.

    I know water is wet, but I don't know how much common air has to pass through to get enough humid air to convert to HH and O. Once we get that number, then we'll know how much to pump in or control to synchronize with the engine's needs (heavy foot/vs easy acceleration).

    Since Hydrogen has a higher fuel rating than gasoline (combustion efficiency), it shouldn't take much to run a good engine at peak efficiency. E.G. less HH to get the same power. We'll find out in this adventure, eh?

    We'll just need bullet-proof glass on the windows, as we pass all the gas stations. I can just see everybody buying a big Caddy Hearse with a bumper sticker that says "I guzzle clean air and exhaust clean water". :thumbs2:

    BTW I wanted to let you know that I watched one of my car shows over the weekend. They were talking about a spark plug I found real interesting it helps get better gas mileage. its called E3 plugs.

    Also been thinking about changing to a synthetic oil called Royal Purple they have fluids for the rear end,trans,engine and rad.

    I saw that Bosch came out with one as well, with 3 tips up to the electrode, like that. Looks like its high time for these things to come on the market. I read about a few older patents on this idea about 4 years ago.

    Andy showed me that stuff at a shop yesterday in Grand Forks. hmmm... That good, huh?

    I don't know how many miles my wagon has but it still runs strong and doesn't smoke. I need to replace the valve cover gaskets,then plan on doing all fluid changes along with a new tune up and a MSD Coil with all this done I hope to see close to 5% jump in mileage alone.

    Norman with all these improvements and the HH O system seems to me that 30 mpg would be easy to get with my car and yours would be higher.

    Do you use gasket goo on yours? Andy and I have the rubber gaskets and they leak like a sieve. I bought a pair of cork gaskets, because I trust them more. I put new racing quality ($60) gaskets on the Fairmont's original 302 and the car was like a garden slug - dripped everywhere. Great for tweaking solid lifters (pushrod adjustments), but useless on these hydraulics lifter engines.

    Anyway, my dad and I always used the gasket goo on the pan and valve covers. Look ma! More oil in the pan!!! :evilsmile:

    Funny that the stock coil doesn't deliver enough spark. Our little sixes have lots, if they're in good shape. MSD or Accel coils are a good buy though.

    I use Permatex blue RTV on my gaskets. The rubber ones are great if you have to remove the valve cover often I like cork better.I use a very thin layer spread on with my finger and wait a few minutes to put the gasket on. With the rubber one I put several small dots on the valve cover and wait until tacky then put the gasket on so it don't slide out of place to keep it from leaking.

    If you were on this 'On-the-fly' idea, you wouldn't give a darn about MPG, except for tuning it up. Free fuel? Drop a 1000 HP tank engine in! like this one:

    Yeah, we'd need a highchair! :) But anyway, the MPG could take a backseat.

    I was thinking about how a heat exchanger works. Refrigerators work similarly. If you recirculated the heat from the exhaust to condense the air mass coming into the pump - BMW did this on a 2004 engine 'proof of concept' you'd get the humidity into a denser mass and make it easier, MAYBE. I'll have to find some info on the amount of natural hydrogen in air. Oxygen is aplenty, we breathe it all the time. I just wonder if there's enough present to split it off or use some less complex process to collect it, avoiding electrolyis completely (less demand on the engine's alternator).

    I keep thinking outside the box. Especially since every major company tries to package these innovations into whiz-bang widgets. Would we be pi$$ed to find out we've been suckered all along into buying petro and screwing our lives? If this works, all hell will break loose.

    I agree and if you can get it to work and pass it on to others with out the oil companies finding out that would put a major hurting on their wallets.

    Great looking innovations. Whatever works to squeek out more efficiency out of an engine, can work with this hydrogen. Everything stays the same. Hydrogen burns cooler than gasoline, so engine wear would come down, and since there's no carbon deposits from HH, the oil is cleaner. No sludge, no muck and grime. Happy motoring takes on a new meaning. :)
