That' amazing that the AC still works. How long as it been since to was used? Hope you son is feeling better, cool that you got to spend the day with Caleb. Very pretty picture.
Thanks Fannie. I have no idea how long it's been since it was last used. But I'd guess Jimmy Cate was still President.
The annual Nile Valley Vintage trailer rally was this past weekend. Unfortunately my oldest son got sick this past week (again!) and that affected our plans to attend. My youngest son and I ended up going up for the day Saturday, just for the day. The weather was pretty good aside from all of the smoke from our regions numerous forest fires. Most folks use modern towrigs, but there were a few cool vintage cars there including a 58 Edsel convertible as well as a chassis mount on a Jeep 4X4 pickup. We stopped at a few of the fruit stands along the old highway on our trip home. On our way up to the rally Caleb mentioned that he had never been to any of them before and would like to someday. I figured it was as good a time as any. We had a pretty good time
Uh, a little too kitschy for my taste, although, I wouldn't mind just the Edsel. Your truck and trailer are, IMHO, the epitome of freedom. No one telling you to conform to their ideal.
Looks like a fun trip. I hope your older guy is ok, maybe he doesn't like camping? I like those two like campers, they are the same aren't they?
Thanks Fannie, it was a fun trip. Oldest son is on the mend now, but his little brother caught what he had and now he's under the weather. They both LOVE camping. He was bummed he missed out. Yes, those two campers happen to be from the same manufacturer.
The boys and their Dog and I decided to go for a little drive Sunday afternoon and take in some of the beautiful fall foliage in our neck of the woods. We loaded up our bikes and went out to see what we could find. We ended up spending most of the afternoon at the Ahtanum Mission, a place I have been going to since I was a kid. https://www.yakimaherald.com/magazi...cle_3711244c-8e9c-11e8-a5b4-cf0e5f00d814.html We had a great time and the scenery was indeed beautiful.
It's sort of Ironic (if that's the right word) but the last two photos I shared were taken at the same place as this photo I shared on page 11. It was an annual event when I was growing up to have a family campout. Every year we would camp at the Ahtanum Mission. So the day trip I took this past Sunday with my boys and Grandpa and Grandma's truck was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for me. I even pointed out the very spot where they used to park the very truck we were driving on those camping trips. Lots of good memories. I'm sure Grandpa and Grandma were smiling down upon us as we traipsed around the grounds.
