My 1964 Pontiac Catalina Safari build

    Car is on the ground, driveable, and at the paint shop!

    Disassembly has started....finding sand everywhere!

    Blower motor and heater box to be removed. Putting in a block off plate, since I am installing vintage air.

    Looks good, but I so confuse. If you were going to pull the front end off of the car anyway why not wait to clean/restore the engine bay until all of that was pulled off?

    But weren't you going to pay those clowns $450 until they wound up painting over your dirt and grease or were you not planning to take it down that far at that point?

    I guess im not following.

    1. no matter who was painting the car, they would paint under the nose when it was broke down. I did not have the luxury of painting it all with the engine out. I had to get the car running again.

    2. the cheap engine bay paint job was not paid for, and was redone personally.

    If it were me, I'd definitely try to replicate the sticker. It's kind of a shame when restoring a car like this that stuff like that sticker have to go. Too bad you can't work around it.
