Jarrod, that is kinda how the interior on my 93 is. Its darker then my 92. Someone replaced the spare tire cover and the handle on the tailgate that opens it outward with the 92's lighter tan color. I need both front door panels for it as the speaker grills were butchered by a retarded teenage punk who was too lazy to pull the screws, so he cut them up and ziptied in speakers. Problem I am having is all the interiors around here are anything but tan. I am trading my 98 Monte Carlo that I cannot seem to sell and needs moe work then I am willing to do, to a local junkyard for a bunch of parts from a 91 Caprice wagon. Fenders, doors, tailgate, rear bumper, hood, lights, grill, glass and as many of the blue interior parts that I can pull and resell.
Well, that wagon is a 92 with 93 panels, plus it's no longer on the road and the door panels are up for sale if you were interested.
Classy, as all get out, too! Fits right in with the colour scheme. The thing about these little mods is that it gets you pulled back and seeing if other things need attention too.
Thanks Jarrod, I just got hooked up with a bunch of interrior pieces that I am picking up tomorrow morning. Should have everythig I need to finish up the inside of my 93 now. Now I need to find this SEM, or whatever its called, dye/paint to get the exact darker tan color of my 93.
You should be able to find easier in the US. AutoZone or some other big chain, as well as any Bodyshop materials vendor. If all else fails, email them. http://www.semproducts.com/ Have a good look around and check out the degreaser and soap, maybe the textured line (that's fairly recent - last 12 months or so). I used the Color-Coat line. The other two are for exterior mouldings. The local shops can mix up your colour choices if the stock ones don't match.
I ordered from the web site and had what I needed in 5 days. UPS ground. The product is great and they shipped the same day that I ordered. If you need custom colors they do that but it costs a lot. SEM is in New Kensigton Pa.
The local guy hit me for $30 CDN$ for the one can to match this chocolate colour. I think somebody mentioned about $22 USD$ back in 2007, when I did mine originally. Standard colours were like $13 CDN$ per can back then. I didn't ask this time.
Thanks for the info and links guys. Camel mor Palamino both look pretty close. I don't need a 100% dead nuts match, but close is prefered. Now to see what it costs in Aerosol and if Autozone, Advance or Enormis Audio carries it.
Camel is what I used. Tan is a bit darker. Good luck. Read the can before you leave the store! The cleaners are critical for a good bond.
Ok, I got them painted up. Passenger side map pocket and rear armrests. I got to thinking that I have to get new carpet for the Mustang seatbacks anyway (no padding, etc.) which extends to the cargo area, so I'll get that on order, or look around locally through an upholstery shop, and put the carpet on later. I'll install tomorrow and take pics. Lots of other details to work out for now.
Mother Nature is favouring me. Almost 8 straight days of sunny, decent outdoor weather ahead. Nights are below freezing, but that gives me 4 hours close to 45 or 50. Today! 65F!!!! Didn't think I'd get a shot at refinishing the new tailgate. Its the bondo work and dust that I need to do outside. Painting with the Rustoleum is fine in the basement.
