The car is still in the body shop. I am getting a really good price on excellent work, so the time frame is a little long. I should have it back this month.

You found a body shop to paint your wagon? I have tried every body shop close to my home. Including dealers. None will do a complete repaint of my 1990 Buick estate. Spray cans is how it will get done. Plus lots of vinyl wrap

Big buck custom shop. Door jams and all. A friend of mine works there. They are replacing the quarter panel as well. I had to supply all of the parts. Parts cost about $400 at the local P-N-P yard. I had to buy one piece of trim from an ebay seller...$50 was reasonable shipped. Quarter panel $131, front fender $50, front and rear door $50 each, rear door trim $50, misc small parts for the rest. Small parts are the most expensive per part. I have a lot of odds and ends from the doors...glass, and regulators.

Just about any body shop here will paint a wagon.

I suppose it can all depend on where you live.

So I have to move to Florida to get my WAGON PAINTED? I do not understand the click between so called Great Hot Roders custom builders , Body & paint shops. Last time I had collision damage & painted at a so called experienced repair facility. Body work sucked canal water. Paint was full of Runs, DIRT, Bubbles, Fish eye & sand marks bleeding through paint? WHAT? Then I complained. They kept my freshly repainted SSR another week to buff it out? The picture of my SSR is the damaged fender. I have stopped going to cruise ins because of the comments about the finish. I guess it must be like joining some secret society? Not interested in what I heard about initiation?

It is too bad that there are so many lousy paint shops out there. I had mine painted, and within a year the paint was cracking, and at 18 months it was flaking off. It is currently being taken down to the metal for repainting.

It looks like it's getting to the point to where cruise ins will have to establish separate gatherings for the fish-eyed, the bubblers and the orange peelers, to get away from annoying comments from pundits who themselves don't own classic- or custom cars
