You have to read this interview! The guy started in 1978. This interview addresses all the issues a novice would - dealing with the ATF, using corn, newspaper, sawdust, which chemicals or yeast. Honest this guy cuts through the crap, fast!

This 'Mr. Lance Crombie of Webster, Minnesota' is a farmer. You can probably find 10 articles of his different trial-and-error DIY systems. Great, down to earth stuff. He even heats his home with his own Ethanol using his old Oil Furnace! Makes me wonder if I should scrounge all my neighbors' flyers and newspapers. :thumbs2:

I've got a Favorites Group called Car Museum. One of them is a link to the Ford Model T history. Lots of documents. The 1923 Ford Dealers Data Book, provides all the Features and Benefits that a Dealer is supposed to know when he's selling a new 1923 Car or Truck.

The engines were the same - 20 HP -Straight 4 banger. Top speeds of 17 to 22 MPH. The trucks could haul a bit more than 2000 lbs (1 ton).

According to this manual, the 1923 Model T truck was cheaper than a team of horses of 6 to 8 horses, to run. A typical horse needed 5 acres of feed per year (30 to 40 acres for a team). The truck on the otherhand cost 6 to 10 cents per mile for:

    Here's the link:

You might have to go to the main page, because their site seems to be in some disrepair, click Encyclopedia, then More Menu:
    http://www.mtfca.com/

From 1908 to 1923, Ford had sold 6 million Model T's and 5.5 million were still on the road. Not bad for 15 years of production. When you read that, take note of the huge Price Drops, from 1908 to 1922. It went down to one third of the 1908 prices. No ticky, no funny.

And they could still run on Ethanol (Grain alcohol).

    Dual-Fuel Pickup Truck

A 1967-1968 Chevy/GM Pickup truck converted in 1979 to run on either Gasoline or Alcohol (homemade Ethanol)... Right-click the Image Gallery for the Figures (pics). I used the Print (Right-click also) to get the text without opening each page. Just hit Cancel when the Print box comes up.

All the Jet-drilling instructions, etc. :D

We popped up to $3.69 at the discount places (nice discount eh!) and the Chevron which is always the highest (they think very highly of their product) is $3.77. As always add a 0.09 to the price. It's psycologically better to leave out the 0.09 though.
