They showed it to me. It was a belt pulley both times. It was the V6. if that means anything. I would had done it myself but there was a need for a "Special Tool" and that tool cost $600.00 So I figured I would take it in. Bad move. It was all kids in that service dept, encluding the service writer. They are now a VW dealership Arrowhead VW in Peoria Az. DO NOT GO!!!

Oh ok.. it was an L series then.. totally different beast and were uhh.. basically junk at 5yo. After all that work they shouldn't have fought you and made it right without question. Sorry you had a bad experience my 2 cars have been excellent.. but again s-series and a different beast altogether.

Hopefully the Chevelle treats you right.. you deserve it (y)

    Thanks,
Yea I was wanting to sue them, but I am too much of a poor boy to do that. Plus I had no place to keep a dead car. So I called the junk yard to come get it from saturn. They even charged me $65.00 to look at it those _________ !!! I really liked that car a lot. After that, no more late model stuff. Only stuff that I can totally work on. And that means cars pre 1980.

    1980 Subaru 1600 4x4 Wagon-
    Silver w/ Blue interior
I bought it for $50 with an electrical issue (kept blowing a fuse and killing it)
Spent a couple hours tracing the wires to find two crossed wires with the insulation melted. Taped them up and it ran great
Sold it for $250, I should have kept it

    1980 Chevy Caprice Wagon -
    Red w/ Red interior
I drove it for about a year. A decent car, I gave it to a friend when the torque converter went out.
I really liked the drop down tailgate on it, as opposed to the swing open style.

    1987 Buick LeSabre Woody Wagon-
    Red w/ Red velour interior.
Was my daily for about 4 years.
In that time, it only needed ball joints replaced - aside from the small rear window and steering column after it was stolen by someone with good taste in cars.
Salty winter roads killed it, and I downgraded to a VW Rabbit.

    1965 VW Squareback Sedan-
    I've owned it since 2004.
    Undergoing a complete rebuild.
Will most likely be getting a Subaru Engine/Porsche 5 or 6 speed Transmission Transplant:chirp:

    1968, 1969, 1971, 1971, 1973, 1973 VW Squareback Sedans
    Parts cars.
I stripped what was worth saving (very few replacement parts are made for them), and scrapped the rusty bodies.

    1968 VW Squareback Sedan-
Peru Green w/ White & Black interior
Advertised on CL for $500 with "engine problems", I talked him down to $300 with worst-case scenarios as to what could be wrong with it.
After I put the spark plug wires in the right order :slap: , it's been running great. The engine is currently in my 71 daily.
The body is currently in my garage undergoing some rust repair. With some fresh paint and interior, it will be a pretty sharp car.

    1971 VW Squareback Sedan-
    Orange w/ Black Vinyl interior
It's been my daily Spring, Summer and Fall since 2007.
It's pretty rusty and beat up. I doubt I'll do anything about that - far more time and money than it'd be worth.
It's always gotten me where I want to go, hauls as much as I need it to, and gets 30+ MPG on the highway.

NY, I just read through your list of wagons, and DANG! You were a Hell Raiser! :party5:
Have you calmed down just a little bit? I hope so. :whew:
Hope your hanging out with a better class of buds, too! Must be, for your current Saturn to have gone so long. :rofl2:

    My three wagons...

My first Taurus wagon was a black 1987 LX with 129,000 mi when I bought it in early 1995. I put 3 alternators in it and all manner of other repairs... it was not a great car, but I enjoyed it b/c it was my chance at a Taurus... I rear ended a truck in 5MPH traffic and totalled it.

My second Taurus was a red 1995 GL with 37,000 mi which I got in 1997 after the first one died. I could finally afford a decent car, so I bought the best one I could find second hand b/c I didn't (and don't) like the 'new' Taurus. It was a reliable car for a long time, but coming down to the end, several major things went wrong and finally the entire brake system failed at a time I couldn't be without a car (I was back in school) so I had to give it up and I drove a non wagon for a year and just about lost my mind. (I'm thankful to a patch of ice that i no longer have that monstrosity!)

My third Taurus is the one I have now... a beautiful green 1995 GL with 16K -- less than 15K when I bought it... I plan to baby it, and hope I can afford to fix the things I couldn't fix on the other one and that bunches of things don't all fail at the same time... I love it.

    My Wagon List

I feel so insecure and like a beginner. I have had only three wagons..... Mom and dad bought me a small red Radio Flier when I was very young. I bought a red two-door 1972 Gran Torino Wagon new with a shiny 390 and power everything. In 1975 traded for a Ford supercab truck. In 1987 I bought the 1955 Chevy 210 two-door wagon streetrod project......... To pad my list, I have a 1948 Chevy 1/2 ton panel truck streetrod with 350. Sort of a wagon without windows or seats in back. More padding...Almost bought a red 2011 HHR panel truck this summer vacation. :slap:Really only two wagons in nearly 57 years of attempted driving. :icon_drive::chirp:

Cat, If you really like the HHR, you should check into it further. Mine's been great. I'm averaging around 28mpg, and that's with a pretty heavy foot and the larger 2.4 engine. No breakdowns to date in around 30,000 miles of driving - less than a year. Sore points - big huge wide 'A' pillars that you can lose whole cars in (let alone pedestrians....watch out, kids!) when turning left; and somewhat weak standard brakes. I've upgraded to ceramic pads.

Thanks Krash. Those A-pillars can't be any worse than on my Dodge truck. The one we looked at was the HHR panel wagon. I liked the side door which blended in, and hatch. But not much room otherwise. If we did buy one, they also had a loaded 4-dr that we liked. Also red.--But I like my larger Dodge truck with no payments. -----------Always thought I'd like a PT. Recently found several friends who are car poor from the Kia like problems with the Neon based vehicle.

Sadly we traded a hi-top Dodge van for our quad cab Dodge truck because all newer vans cost as much as a house. Our truck has a topper and does not look like a wagon. Maybe if you chop the top on that van it will pass as a station wagon.(y)

    Cheeze you guys

I only had 1 wagon before I got the old delivery - a 1976 Volare, my only "new car" purchase from a dealership in my life (well, the Mustang was a year old so it really doesn't count). The Volare was fine for 2 years or so, then began to change from a silver car into a yellow citrus fruit...I've owned older cars ever since...
