Very cool wagons. Welcome aboard. I see you are from Waltham, the home of the Orient Buckboard automobile and the Waltham Watch Company. It has also been home to my wagon since I bought it. A buddy is storing it for me until he can bring it with him the next time he comes to Virginia for a visit. There is a salvage yard in Leon, Virginia called Leon's Auto Parts which sits on 100 acres between Culpepper and Warrenton, Virginia. Phone number is 540-547-2366 (Leon Jr. is the owner of the place). They specialize in 50's to 70's cars. Although I'm a Mopar guy, I have liked the 60 Ford wagon since my Dad had one when I was a kid. I do remember counting seven 1960 Ford wagons scattered along one pathway on my way back to a Mopar A-body section. The bad news is that I believe its strictly pull your own parts, and I don't believe they will do any shipping. This is also part of the "rust belt" so sheet metal is likely pretty rusty. It has been a few years since I was last there, so I can't promise that they are still there.
You got me on the Orient Buckboard, but of course I know the Watch Factory. Thanks to all for the kind words on the wagons. - Mike
I'm diggin' the '60 and '61 Ranch wagons. The '60 is going to be bad to the bone. A 2-dr HT wagon...I love it. I didn't realize that Ford made a 2-dr model in '61. '60's are quite rare as it is. Jack
Neat wagons. I believe '61 was the lst year for the big Ford 2-door wagons, but you could still get the Falcon in a 2-door through the '65 model year.
Thanks for all the great comments guys. And yes 1961 was the last year for the big 2-Door Wagons. I am a serious Ford nut and didn't even know that, but I was searching for "2-Door Ranch Wagon" parts several years back and found the 61 on eBay. I couldn't believe it as I always thought 60 was the last year - so I just had to buy it. Like a lot of my other "projects" I had more money than sense at the time, so its been sitting for a while waiting for me to get to it. Plans are to make it into a 2-Door Country Squire as I slowly find all the wood trim needed. Not to mention 'd live to put a 427 SOHC motor in it. More crazy and expensive car fantasies !!
