well, i have to pay myself and seek damages later. i need my car back! when i get home from work ill give the whole story.
ok, here is how it went down. monday i called the dealer and talked to the salesman i bought it from. he said he would have the service manager call me. ....about 1 hour later he calls and tells me he will see what he can do. ....hear nothing on tuesday, multiple attempts to call him are fruitless. After leaving multiple messages i finally call the service advisor whom was involved. he kept telling me "you bought the car 'as-is'" I told him that the damage was caused by tightening the nut on the rear-end too tight! to which he told me that ..."that is impossible" and "you bought the car as-is ....my hands are tied.." and hung up on me. so.....should you come across a beutiful wagon at WATSON CHEVY, BUICK, PONTIAC on us RT 22 in Blairsville Pa Pass on it ...no matter how nice it is. im out $650 because of an incompetent buick tech. and a shady dealer that wont stand behind their repairs!
Could we call this PTPD? Post traumatic pinion disorder? This too shall pass. In about 5 years. Sucks big-time when they won't 'fess-up. By the sounds of it, they won't be too happy when they learn that GM is stalling to pay dealers their commish. They'll be standing even futher behind their repairs, bills, payrolls...
wonder if that is why they are being such dicks, i also think it has to do with them being 65 miles away ...."oh he wont do anything".... put a call in to the dealers GM and I expect that to be fruitless. GM: "this is why we dont even fix "as is" cars.... we just disclose the damage/repair needed and let the customer deal with it ...after all you got the car at a discount" ME: "I paid $6500 for a broken 12 year old wagon! that was sold as a "perfect specimen" !!!!" " that car kbb's at 7000 for excellent condition....this car is nice but not excellent!" GM: "well, the car is 12 years old and was very clean" GM: " the car was marked down from $9000....the car is a rare car...a unique vehicle!" ME: (to myself: "and you are a unique dealer!")" ok but that still doesnt solve the problem...you folks put the new seal in and from what the mechanic told me ... the nut was tightened too far and the berings were crushed!" "when i talked to the service dept. the advisor told me "thats impossible" .....i had this verified as a possibility by the head mech. at the local buick dealer here! GM: well we can't know whats going on inside the axle ME: "when i saw the leak when i bought the car, I told them if the problem wasnt fixed im not buying the car...so they fixed it ....so i thought!" GM "well ill talk to the service manager and the tech to see if we have any liability here but, i have to stand by my guys here if they feel we are not at fault" ........ hmm ....i think i was just politely told to screw off !!!!
ive had to drive Jenny's (wife) ford focus for the last 3 days....i miss my wagon....the v8 ....the room...the seats....not looking gay! (i cant say that...i had a focus myself...and it was bright yellow)
filled out a report on Ripoff report.com that is the best thing i can do i guess. going to pay for the wagon now.
