Don't worry about liking the Oldsmobile.Starting in the mid-50's,studies and surveys were showing that Oldsmobiles had risen to the level of Chryslers and Lincolns. For as long as they've been ratings the cars for sale in America,Consumer Reports has regularly rated the Oldsmobile and Buick versions of cars as being of higher quality than their GM stablemates.Cadillac included. And what you've got is a fine example of a classic Oldsmobile, from the heyday of the penultimate floaterboat cruiser wagons:yahoo:...Hold onto it as long as you can.

    Hey There!

Made it through the pass, somehow. Pretty sloppy though. We came through the following night after the shut down. Pretty hairy driving in a car that I really knew nothing about condition-wise... except that the tires were pretty much done for.

Nice to hear from someone so close by. I know Aylesford well. I'm in Brooklyn outside of Windsor, Hants County. Dated a girl from there for almost 3 years and spent many weekends in your area. My boss is from there as well, too.

What sort of vehicle have you got in the stable?

We may have to meet up in ol' New Minas for a cruise sometime in the summer! :tiphat:

Best intro/pics I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. Absolutely positively love your car and wish I could find one just like it. It is the whole package, clamshell, 455, th400, just sounds perfect. 1200 bucks is a steal too!

I also love the old-man cars as you call them. I hear it from my dad all the time, he likes his GTO's and such. Give me a big boat of wagon, or even in cars, a big 50's, 60's or 70's sedan.

    Awsome find Josh!

A neighbor of mine had one new. It was maroon and had no wood siding! So the wood must have been an option.

I have several friends who are Funeral Directors here in the States. They are all car collectors. And they all LOVE big, cars. Welcome aboard!
