Santana's music is about the only one that could make me drop the coin for an Auto CD player. :thumbs2:

You don't need a CD player in your ride, just do what I do. Run a casette adapter to the deck and plug the walkman CD player or Ipod or MP3 or whatever to that.

Have thought about such things as CD players and bumpin' thumpin' speakers, but usually go without.Right now,my next mission for the radio in my Colony Park is to replace the antenna somebody snapped in half, while it was up.:(

Bump-bumps don't do it for me. 2 of my friends have them in their trucks, and then you have to listen to hippidy hop and crap. And me, Im an oldies and classic country guy, so it just wouldn't work for me haha. Picture me bumpin to Glen Campbell in the Caprice hahahaha!

My favorite story to tell about bumpin' thumpin' car stereos goes like this;my wife and I were in the Reliant, stopped at a red light. One lane over and one car up,was an Acura, with the music so loud,it was drowning out the radio in our car.The Acura wasn't just making loud music,it was also making a buzzing sound, like crappy old glasspacks or something. As we were looking over at this car, shaking our heads in disbelief and all that, the right side tail-light assembly fell off the car onto the street. The guy right behind them saw it too.He was looking at their car,I guess, expecting somebody to get out and pick the piece up.But the light turned green, and the Acura drove off. This other guy shrugged his shoulders and ran over the tail-light assembly as he too went down the street.:yup:

Heck you can make it even worse than Rhinestone Cowboy, you could do "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife" haha. I do like both songs, but my favorite Glen song would probably be Southern Nights.

It was one or more episodes of his TV show.Glen,Buck Rogers,Jerry Reed and one other guy did Down On The Corner by John Fogerty...And he's done the best ever version of The Beatles's Blackbird,I've ever heard.

I think I have seen that video online at one point or another. I actually have Jerry Reed's version of Down on the Corner on CD, but I can't get into it, it's a song that is only meant to be sung by CCR.

And as for the guy in the Acura...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! That's classic. It's okay my buddy drives a Ranger with big subs in the back, and cranks them so loud, (he has a sliding rear window) and the one piece is ducktaped on plexiglass and bows back and forth so far I'm just waiting for it to pop off while he's driving sometime! It would be funny to watch the wind catch that one!

That was the only incident of "loud car stereo syndrome",detrimentally affecting a car, that I've actually seen.I've heard several stories about guys who wanted to show everybody how loud their car stereo is---with the all the windows and doors closed, and blowing out a window when they slam the door shut...But,I've only heard stories about that.
And,since it's been brought up(kind of)I was wondering how you feel about that situation Fogerty's in;where he not only can't do CCR songs,he can't do songs that sound "too much like CCR songs".Personally,I think it's ridiculous...That'd be like Paul and Ringo not getting to do Beatles songs---or Joan Jett and Lita Ford not getting to do Runaways songs.
