you'd have to see where the support hits the tranny's see if they're the same length. and then find a drive shaft that will fit, if the current one doesn't.

I have a lead on a '77 LTD with a C-6, '9 inch rear, and 400 cid. The 4 door has been sitting for 5-7 years. So yea, the trans will have to be rebuilt but all the other drive line parts "should" be there.

I'm just going to get the FMX rebuilt......as soon as I get the cash to do it. I checked all the vac lines and modulator.....all checked out fine.

That'll work. The kiss approach is always cheapest and easiest. Just get a guy that knows that tranny well...he may do some tweaking that other shops may not know about.

When I had my '77 CS, I had this shop rebuild the C-6 that was in there. The guy knows his craft, that C-6 felt like it was brand new. I took my '78 to him to look it over, he drove it. Came back said it was simply wearing out, just needs a rebuild. He has been rebuilding transmissions since 1975, he went into detail about the FMX.......so yea, none the less I trust him and his shop.
