Rev is right. That nylon collar on the steering column is notorious for a serious vacuum leak. All I did was pull the hose and plug it with a golf tee. Worked perfectly! Also, check the vacuum booster for the brakes. I have seen them leak at the seal for the connection to the master cylinder, and end up sucking the brake fluid out of the master, leaving the car with no brakes, but no visible leak in the lines. Of course, when that happens, it means a new, or rebuilt, booster as well as a new master cylinder.

Knock on fake wood.....mine has been running ok for the last couple of weeks since I pulled off that Idle Control Solenoid and cleaned it. I took it apart, flushed with carb cleaner and rinsed. I lubed up the moving parts with some 3 and 1. I also spray lubed the moving parts in the throttle. Of course...all this is subject to change tomorrow being a cranky 28 year old car.

Good old unleaded fuel never goes off or gets things gummy. you all probably already add fuel stabilizer if not it works a treat especially if you don't use one of your rides for awhile

Rev, what did you take off the road? It is a 302, though, isn't it?
