Hello to everybody! I'm still there... and my car is waiting for time I have to take for her... Well few pictures of the actual state of my DOOOOOODDDDDGGGGGE! I hope that the car will be paint before the end of this year!! Bye Jerome
Again, the quality of the work you do is phenomenal! Keep up the good work, and please, keep those pictures coming!
Thanks to all for your encouragements! I have a little problem with the heat control valve. I tried to find a post about it in the forum but i'm not good enough to find a thread talking about that part. I defrost (unjam?) the axle of this valve but it's working a few time and after it stuck again. Does somebody know what kind of grease, lubricant i have to use for this:banghead3: heat control valve and Where i could find a new coil? 3 days ago I have to move my car to park it at my neighbours farm for a short time. I was sitting on a paint can for driving it, the seats are not back in the car for the moment. I was so happy to drive the car for 100 meters that i give a lot of gas... But when I have to turn, the can of paint fell and I with! I was hung on the steering wheel, and could not reach any more pedals... well It was funny afterwards but not while this happened to me Anyhow, brakes are working well, transmission, steering and engine too!
Hello everyone! Been a long time quiet, but... I'm back ! (was fighting against my password) A lot has happened since my last message. I left my Dodge for many years, away from the sun, the cold etc. Last year, I decided that I had to get serious about it, so I called a sheet metal worker who continued to replace all the rusty parts of the car, and there were still some! The rear door was cut in half to be completely redone, the front fenders as well etc. I was then able to have the car repainted in its original eggshell white but I still made a bend to the original by doing a second wedgwood blue tone. It's a color combination that existed in 58 and I thought my car deserved to be in "technicolor". Here is the car in its current state...
Hello to everyone and... Merry Christmas to all of you! I'm finally on vacation... and I'm taking some time to take care of my little things. So I found a way to resize the pictures and I should be able to post some. This is what my car looks like now after "a few" hours spent to find where such and such screw, part goes! A real work of ants I still have some work to do but as I lost some parts and i'm looking for them on the net but I have to admit that there is not much...
What parts are you looking for? You never know someone on here may have what you need. Good luck getting your wagon finished up!.... Buy the way she sure is looking nice at this point !
Thank you for your encouragement, this project has been going on for 10 years... I thought I would never finish but my oldest daughter gave me the courage to finish by asking me a simple question: "Dad, do you think a mattress for 2 would fit in the trunk?" I found the question curious before understanding that she was planning to go camping with her boyfriend with the car! So I thought that this machine could have other uses than to move its old owner and that motivated me to get back to it. I have indeed lost some parts by moving the car from one place to another, and I thank "wagoninsane" for his suggestion. So well, if you have : The chrome air intake grill for the vent just in front of the windshield, the 2 chrome guards on the rear bumper, the 2 bolt-on rails that guide the glass in the rear door, a stock carburetor (Carter AFB 2642 ) with original filter, mine is a cheap Holley , the fuel gauge in the tank, the driver's side window tinted (mine is cracked) and finally a black&white steering whell in better shape than mine it would be wonderful.
I hope that someone can help you find the missing parts you need. I'm the current steward of a 65 Olds Vista Cruiser, acquired in 2017. I immediately started looking for parts I needed and parts I thought I might need in the future. It can be frustrating because there isn't many wagon specific parts reproduced or any to be had in general. Soooo I ended up buying a complete parts car, probably not a feasible option for you? Anyway good luck with your wagon!.....Longroofs Rule!
