not alot of new to post.. i did try to move it out to clean it up some before heading to the shop with it.. but wouldn't you know it the steering coupler gave out while i was pulling it out.. so it will be few days before i get back on it... i did get some door panels for it.. not really the right color but i figure i can do a black and red interior..:) i could not turn them down after seeing the condition of them.. one armrest will need recovering but still not bad for 50 year old parts.

Looks like it has some serious potential. Nothing like good old heavy American steel.(y)

Hey! How come your daughter Michelle isn't over there cleaning that thing up? Probably the same reason my daughter Michele isn't cleaning up the 67 Malibu wagon at my place!

well actually she has a good excuse..2,000 miles!!!..she lives in vancouver washington..and i live in south missouri... she only gets to come down a couple of weeks a year. probably all she will be doing is maybe some cleaning, sanding, a little interior work and i might let her spray some paint and do some reassembling.. i will do the rest.. i am finding more rust repair and sheet metal work the more i get it tore down.. but no more than i was really expecting from any old car.. will post more pictures when i get the seats, front clip and engine out

Well, my Michele doesn't have that excuse........she's 40 minutes away. But, she does send her husband over a couple of Saturdays a month to work on the wagon, or whatever project surfaces........unless we're going to a swap meet or car show..........

i put a couple of long days in on the olds wagon.. got most of the interior stripped out and worked my butt off getting the tailgate window down so i can open it.. after sitting over 20 years the tailgate did not want to co-operate with me.. they never intended to remove the interior panel with the tailgate stuck shut.. with the 64-65 gm A body wagon parts so hard to find i had to be very careful not to damage anything.. i am going to replace the floorboard because it is full of pinholes.. the front is available thru several sources no problem.. the rear i will make from 16and18 ga. steel.. michelle is lucky i have a well equipped restoration shop no telling what this would cost if she had to actually pay someone to do it..ha ha ha ha ... will get some pictures when it stops raining

well i hate to say i havent got much (nothing) done on the olds this week.. i have started a 71 ford project and figured i would do all i can on it till i get shutdown waiting on parts.. then get back on the olds.. i am trying to get as much done on the wagon in the yard as i can because with 6 projects in the shop now i am running low on room.. so i wont put the wagon in the shop till i get ready to start replacing sheetmetal.. well maybe i will make some progress soon to keep ya'll interested in my thread..:)

here is a link to prove i just havent been sitting on my lazy butt all week..:)

It would be so easy to sit around once you retire...good for you! We have a little plaque that says "You Rest You Rust" this is not only true for cars.
