ahh and dont forget the 05-06 liberty could be had with a detroit diesel 4cyl turbo diesel. 25 mpg in the 4x4 seems to be the normal mpg in those!

the escape is a great vehicle and...its a common misconception junk...both the ford and mercury are available in 2wd and 4wd the differences lay in the grill and brightwork. along with one or two little touches here and there. its a matter of taste.
teddy, in 4wd form i dont think the 4cyl is gonna save you enough fuel to be worth the loss in power. so if you get the 4 makesure you test drive it good or you will hate it in a couple weeks.

She drove all my other wagons, drives my cargo van with no windows backwards like a pro into parking spots (but hasn't in a couple years now), drives her Saffari mini van with mirrors only, backs into parking spots, never had a "ding" in any kind but she won't drive the 2 wagons I have now....she says "I don't want to chance it". AND, she puts up with me....yeah, she deseves something shiny, something she wants;)

    She Deserved It!!

Yes she did deserve it.........Just got home with a brand new off the lot Black on charchol black cloth 2011 XLT 4wd 3.0 6spd auto Ford Escape!:yup::yup::yup:

I have been looking/researching these since my origonal post and although happy with the Escape, just not happy about buying used for many reasons, one of witch was the time I was spending looking.....it's not like I was after a old wagon, rite?

The best part was today it was a total suprise for my honey!!:29: We left this afternoon, removing the seats from her mini van and bout new washer and dryer for the house. Loaded with those I took a detour and was questioned as to "where are you going?"....I said nothing witch got her a bit "ticked" and drove to the Ford dealer....blew her mind, she was shell shocked you could say:eek:

I did my personal in house financing last week..."can I aford this???".. and yes I can but there won't be any $ waisted on novelties/toys/wagon stuff for a long long time,.... every time I dig up a coffee can, one has to be replaced and I would not have done this if there were any douts about paying for it....

I took advantage of 0% interest financeing over 48 months, along with that I beat the 33grand Canadian price down to $28.5 with there (Fords) extra "lets make a deal' and my " this is my deal", got the standard full tank of gas, and a extra key thingy with all the alarm security crap.... They really don't like giving those away but I did bluntly say FU I want one, I want a third key FREE! No trade in ( I have Deb's old van as my new beater van although it's not a beater) and I can barn both wagons come next winter....and get rid of my old Cargo van.

I took the whole zing zam boom warenty, NO bills what so ever for 7 years. All regular maintence, rite down to wind shield wipers is covered AND this package covers road side towing etc for all our cars, it's a pritty good option even with the fine print. Tires and front end elingment is about the only thing not covered...and head lites!

I have to admit, looking under the hood at that baby 3.0 I though...this is going to be a dog, but holy crap that little engine give it when we test drove on the highway hills....and the dogs fit!:rofl2:

Our salesman was a younger guy, but a real person (you can tell)...not a car salesman....or a dam good con, witch is a car salesman:juggle:. A real nice guy, and even though the dealership closed @ 5PM stuck around bringing me coffee while all the paper/credit work was being done, was close to 7PM before we were done and then he still was BS'n about...just BS'n like a person.

....I'm dam poor for along time now!:rofl2:....but it is well worth it IMO:yup:........I have a Ford in my drive way again and my honey who never asks for anything deserves it(y)

PS... Yeah, sorry no pics yet............I sure to hell can't justify buying a new camera now but will have pics up in a few days!

PSS..... NO fannie, I didn't but a new batery or windshield wiper motor today for my wagons;)(y)

Thanks Mike, it worked out good considering it's Mothers day today.....happy Mothers day Moms:D(y)

There were only 3 4wd's to choose from, 2 white and the black one or I would have to wait a week for a different colour. The lot was packed full of the 2wd models though.

Untill I get pics with my honey behind the wheel, this is exactly what it looks like........
    .....it's kinda wagon ish
