Greetings fellow wagon lovers. My name is Jake and I so glad I've found this forum. I've wanted to work on a car with my dad since I was little. We made a deal last summer to half on a project car. Were GM guys and it had to be 1964 or older so we could go to back to the 50's at the Fairgrounds. Yesterday after months of looking we bought a beautiful 1964 Pontiac Catalina wagon. Our patience has paid huge dividends. We are the 4th owner, it's got 97,000 original miles, and the rust for our area is minimal. It's got no breaks and hasn't been on the road for 3 years so we are going to get it running and stopping good to make sure it's safe for us and those around us. Here are pic and I'm looking forward participating on the forum. -Jake
to the wagon train, Jake...and dad, too! It would be hard to have picked a nicer wagon than a 64 Poncho! Great lines on those wagons. It looks great and we look forward to following any work you do on it. Glad to have you on board!
aboardHandsome Jake and dad. Glad you found your dream wagon to work on together. Most of all, you found us. A great combination for many years of wagon enjoyment.
Welcome to the madness !JAKE AND DAD WILL FIT IN HERE JUST FINE , Can't wait to see pics! AND WHAT IS THE PLANS FOR THE WAGON MAN?
Nice Pontiac.... I was driving my first car back in '69 (a '63 Olds Cutlass) when I fell in love with a '64 Catalina Ventura 2-door hardtop, mostly because it had power windows. Went to do a tune-up on it one day. Flipped the cap off the distributor to change out the points, and........no points! Had a flat plate where the points should have been. Did a little research to find out that there was a transistorized ignition option on the 389...... fairly rare from what I've heard. Sold the Ventura a year later for a Corvair. Welcome to the forum... Marshall
