Sorry for replying this late... probably wasn't paying attention at all last couple of weeks here (busy, busy, busy):

Congrats KK, a beautiful wagon. Hope to see more photos soon. (y)

He's got two sets and the asking price is down to $280 per set.
You might be able to do better, but at least you know they're out there!

On another note, came across this old SWF thread from 2009.

This is definitely a unique wagon. When one thinks of B-body wagons they no doubt think of the 77-90 Caprice, 77-85 Impala, 77-90 Estate Wagon, 77-90 Custom Cruiser, and the 84+ Parisienne Safaris. Nobody thinks of the 77-81 Pontiac wagons unless they owned one. I'm the same way. I didn't even think Pontiac made a full-size Safari in 80-81 because there are so few of them! Thought the LeMans Safari was it after the 77-79 Catalina/Bonneville Safaris, and then the Bonneville G Safari, and THEN the Parisienne wagons.

That's a big part of why I fell in love with this wagon, Alan. It's got a real Pontiac Bonneville front end, a real Pontiac Bonneville instrument panel, and real Pontiac Bonneville seats. (Doesn't have a real Pontiac engine, but we can take care of that later...). The Parisiennes they brought out later were really just Chevy Caprices.........

Hey, KK...I forgot to tell you. I just went to a small strip mall again the other day and it reminded me. In this strip mall there is always an 81 Bonney 4 door sitting there in the same spot near the mall front. I think the owner must work in one of the stores. It's tutone blue and drop dead gorgeous. One of these days I am going to have to search the stores and find the owner. I would like to see more of this car and find out it's history, what engine it has etc. Wish I had a camera. This Bonney is a beauty.:D

I've been looking around the internet for other '81 Bonneville owners, and there are not too many......

Update - Shipping company has been determined, with a pick up no sooner than Nov. 23rd. I'll save some bucks by picking it up on this end in Portland instead of them bringing it all the way here to Springfield. Should have it by the end of the month.

Sorry for the delayed response. Like others have mentioned...lots to do...and time gets away from us.

Nevertheless, CONGRATS on your new purchase. I'm thrilled for you. You DO deserve it. (y)

And don't tell me when it's coming in to Portland...I just might come and take it from you

Don't worry about the 307...that's what I've got in my Cadillac. Granted, it's not the most powerful thing in the world...and you won't be winning any races, but it'll get you where you need to go just fine. I took the Caddy to Grants Pass last week and got about 19 mpg on the highway (@ 70 mph). It's nothing compared to today's cars, but for a 4000+ lb car, it could do a lot worse. City mpg...well...not so good. I get about 12 mpg. BTW, I had no problems on the 5% and 6% inclines going over the mountain passes near Grants Pass, either.

    Enjoy it, buddy.

EDIT: Hey, whaddya know? This post is #307 for me...it's a sign...I'm just sayin'.

Things still proceeding. Seller had put the signed-off title in the mail. Got the wagon insured today. We're driving (in the HHR) down to SoCal for the long weekend. By the time we get back, it should be almost here.......

I guess you could say that the '81 Bonneville Safari is 'officially' mine now, since the signed-off title came in the mail today. Now all I got to do is get the wagon here...Little bit of a delay. Shipping broker was unable to get anyone interested in picking it up on the long weekend, which is understandable.
